I do agree that Deepika's PR is the worst but there are overreaction on Gehraiyan's bold scenes in social media. Her PR releases article focussing on the bold scenes of the movie and the Sanskaari people points out that how it is against the culture , married actress shouldn't involve in such scenes etc.

If anyone has the habit of reading social media comments half of the comments are criticising her for the post marriage onscreen kiss or make out scene ,there are comments mocking Ranveer Singh as well for letting her do these scenes.

I guess the reaction is not against the bold scenes but Deepika, a married actress is involved in these scenes.

They should have just portrayed the movie is about complicated relationships infidelity, incompatibility are pretty common and it would have been just like a regular movie on complicated relationships.

Issue here is Deepika and the movie promoting as something deep and woke.

Cheating, smoking, sex is not feminism it is a part of being human irrespective of gender.

Not every movie needs to show or teach a lesson or make people aware of society issues.

It can be taken as a pure piece of entertainment with flawed characters. Using that to justify your own wokeism or feminism is stupid, and it is a movie period.

To be honest there is not much hype over the film, it is only the pr which is on full hyperactive mode. People are busy trolling her choice of wardrobe during promotion then discussing the actual movie

The modern love story is directed by Shakun Batra and also had an intimacy director onboard - making it the first Hindi film to have one. Intimacy director Dar Gai, helped Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Malhotra to become comfortable with each other and get into the skin of their characters to perform intimate scenes on screen.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, revealing what was the mood like on the sets, Dar shared, “One of our jokes was, every time I would come on the set, Shakun would go 'Oh my God, thank God you came. Just tell them to kiss. Because I do not want to tell them to kiss.' And, I would run away. That was our inner joke. And, then when there were intimate scenes, let us say a kiss or a hug, they would shout 'Where is Dar?' Because we would first do certain exercises to make it all much more easy and more fun.”

Talking about the attitudes of actors towards her, Dar told, “When I first entered my workshop, there was already a lot of trust between me and the actors. They were ready to experiment and try something they haven't. For example, the workshops that I did with Deepika and Siddhant were different from what we did with all of them together - Ananya, Dhairya. But, not even once, I felt any hesitation from their side. No one was like I do not want to do this. All of them were absolutely equal to each other, in terms of their eagerness to do something new. I guess that was very inspiring for me”.

On being asked why an intimacy director is important as actor’s already know what they are signing up for when they are offered a movie, she explained it with an analogy of why action directors are required. “When actors read the scene, they know what they are signing up for, but we still call action directors. Whether the actors perform or they call stunt artists, we have specialists on set to make sure our actors are physically safe. Likewise, intimacy direction helps us make actors feel safe - physically and emotionally,” she told.

Exercise before intimacy ..wow

Sounds familiar..

Though wonder why she says actors were trying something new

Highly doubt if it has the power to attract audiences

And I seriously don't understand how cheating, smoking, sex is associated with feminism or being woke..

Being woke in literal sense means being aware, self aware..aware of ur surroundings..ur understanding about things..feminism is about respecting women, understanding their issues and celebrating woman power..

How is EM affairs, cheating, smoking etc related to all of this?

We r getting the meanings all wrong and degrading the terms..that's the reason wokeism has become a joke now..and feminism toxic

As someone mentioned, the only criticism I have seen on social media is from sexist idiots who are asking how Deepika is doing such scenes after marriage and why did Ranveer allow this.
