This is the first instance i have come across where someone is making an issue of the intimate scenes
Most people have an issue with the extra marital affair angle and this movie being touted by certain sections of media as path breaking even though the trailer doesn't suggest any such thing

Getting woke doesn't mean to show kissing scenes, cheating, sex especially by known stars. There are better ways Indian content could evolve but these actors portraying like they have never done such a thing before, cheating in the face of fake feminism scenes, justifying characters indirectly is even worse.

New Delhi: Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday starrer āGehraiyaanā is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on February 11. The modern love story is directed by Shakun Batra and also had an intimacy director onboard - making it the first Hindi film to have one. Intimacy director Dar Gai, helped Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Malhotra to become comfortable with each other and get into the skin of their characters to perform intimate scenes on screen.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, revealing what was the mood like on the sets, Dar shared, āOne of our jokes was, every time I would come on the set, Shakun would go 'Oh my God, thank God you came. Just tell them to kiss. Because I do not want to tell them to kiss.' And, I would run away. That was our inner joke. And, then when there were intimate scenes, let us say a kiss or a hug, they would shout 'Where is Dar?' Because we would first do certain exercises to make it all much more easy and more fun.ā
Talking about the attitudes of actors towards her, Dar told, āWhen I first entered my workshop, there was already a lot of trust between me and the actors. They were ready to experiment and try something they haven't. For example, the workshops that I did with Deepika and Siddhant were different from what we did with all of them together - Ananya, Dhairya. But, not even once, I felt any hesitation from their side. No one was like I do not want to do this. All of them were absolutely equal to each other, in terms of their eagerness to do something new. I guess that was very inspiring for meā.
On being asked why an intimacy director is important as actorās already know what they are signing up for when they are offered a movie, she explained it with an analogy of why action directors are required. āWhen actors read the scene, they know what they are signing up for, but we still call action directors. Whether the actors perform or they call stunt artists, we have specialists on set to make sure our actors are physically safe. Likewise, intimacy direction helps us make actors feel safe - physically and emotionally,ā she told.

Not you guys. But ever since the trailer is out, even before that there have been numerous articles about how this is not releasing in cinemas due to the bold scenes? etc etc. It just looks like making a big deal out of nothing. May be the makers are doing it to hype it up but it looks absolutely exaggerated for no reason.
It is exaggeration to an epic proportions.
Even a movie like Bandit Queen had a theatrical release.
Raaz, Jism (franchises) and Ragini MMS too.
I for once want both DP and her PR to be coherent and clear:
-- Is the movie groundbreaking or not
-- Is it never before explored kind of a tale or not?
-- Has any other actor done such a "DEEP"role ever before or not?
Otherwise the excuse of it not get theatrical release is as "lame" as Landga Tyagi..

So once again it's the PR which is making a big deal about the intimate scenes and not the viewers. Honestly, with this article it's starting to feel like a gimmick now to attract audiences with intimate scenes of Deepika
