and can we please stop with this man-child who finds way in life because that just a flimsy arguement ranbir s filmography is full off characters who were anything were man child samar is one of them
even bunny was anything but man-child a college going who knew exactly where wants to do in life and even works hard for it is no way lost or immature
wake up sid was only movie he played a man child and probably apkgk
@KP,
For one, bluntly put, he is an average actor. I know in Bollywood there are few others to compare to, but thanks to OTT, people can watch good acting now. But even average actors can become good and even great actors with work.
For another, he might be in diff situations, but he was always that lost little soul who needed to find his way to his truth path if you will.
I'm not talking about the setting. It's the core trope in most of his movies.
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/PlayingWith/ComingOfAgeStory
Basic Trope: A character EMOTIONALLY grows up and (usually) matures during the events of the story. (CAPS LOCK MINE)
It's a trope that Ranbir keeps on picking. This is what keeps him from being good.
He might break out of type with Brahmastra and Animal. But he hasn't yet.

ok him being an average actor is your opinion i respect that
about the trope then every character goes through a growth over course of the story there is no character who ends as he started that s how storytelling goes
also i think you should really watch rajneeti because samar is the only rendition of arjun i actually like proabably even more than the real one 😆
not being biased but ranbir s arjun/samar actually takes some intiative during the story somrtimes even more than krishna ( nana patekar) does
i dont think samar comes in that trope either
but what a choice for krishna they actually went with father-son dynamic of krishna-arjun ditching the usuall friends one

i think there is hardly any character who does not undergoes changes during course of the story that s how storytelling works i suppose

I think that somethings just stick on certain actors for life...like Ranbir plays a manchild always.....Katrina Kaif never learned Hindi...although she speaks fluent Hindi now...😆....SRK is a hukla...although he is the best orator in BW....kya kar sakte hain..😆

Katrina can even read the Devanagari script but yes, some things just stick.

OK, I'm going to watch Rajneeti. It's a Godfather adaptation if I'm not mistaken.

oh no its modern day mahabharat
ranbir is arjun this is the most gray shaded version of arjun i have ever seen and my personal favourite
katrina is draupadi
arjun rampal is bhim yudi mix though more bhim than yudi because draupadi actually falls for him 😆
nana patekar is krishna
maoj bajpayee is dury
and ajay devgan is karna
here is the teaser -
