Would Ranbir Kapoor have been able to pull off Bajirao or Khilji?

It would be interesting to see if he could pull these off but I would be surprised if he ever takes up such a role.

Absolutely and he would have done it better.....Veeru's Khilji portrayal was a joke....I can't imagine such an OTT Khilji🤣....it was a good laugh though..BajiRao was good ....don't get me wrong....Veeru is a good actor but Khilji was messed up...and I don't blame Veeru for it....It was all SLB's fault who pays more attention to haathi ghoda paalki and not the characters....the way he messed up Deepu as Padmavati is a whole another story..😆

I wonder though if Veeru or anyone else could have done Bawwwwfii better than Biru..

Although I don't like the movie Rockstar....but the powerful acting done by Biru was>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Veeru as Khilji.

That's true; I don't think Ranveer would have been able to pull off Barfi as well as Ranbir did.

And yes- Deepika's Padmvati....the less said the better!

yeah Ranbir woulda been perfectly able to pull off two-timing Bajirao and be even more convincing than Ranveer.... especially with Deepika playing the other woman. 😛

Doesn't he have Animal coming out? Let's wait for that one before deciding if he coulda done Khilji better. 😆

According to IF every actor is better than Ranveer (who is strangely always used as a benchmark) yet most of them don’t take up those type of roles which makes one wonder why since their fans speculate about their superiority.

Let’s talk about facts. When Ranbir takes on these type of roles we’ll compare fairly.

No. He would look utterly ludicrous. Even that misogynist terrorist thug, Sanjay, was watered down to a scared little man-boy. When I watch a movie, I don't watch to see an actor playing a character. I want to see the character. Ranbir played Sanjay Dutt. The only movies he came close to good were Rocket Singh and Rockstar.

But nor would Ranveer be able to do a Barfi convincingly. He would totally ruin it with his starriness. He looks a convincing Kapil, but he's actually allowed to be the hero in it. Let's see some real acting from him where he can let go of the star. He did come close in Lootera.

And yeah, neither is as good an actor as the fan groups seem to think they are.

Besides the usual Pankaj, Nawaz, check out regional cinema if you want to see actual acting. Marathi for one. Or Malayalam.

Ranbir and Ranveer are entertainers. They get A+ in that category. Both are B- as far as acting is concerned. Grading on a curve.😆

You think? I swear I've been reading that Ranbir is the creme de la creme of acting, eligible bachelor, family heritage, and all the good things in the world and everyone else is just a downgrade. 😆

I personally think Ranveer excels at stuff Ranbir can't even dare to touch. Ranbir has his own strengths that prove his capabilities too, but the way he's heralded as the Marlon Brando of bollywood or sth completely goes over my head!

Yes he could've but it won't be the same as Ranveer's Bajirao or Khilji. Ranbir would give his own take to the characters.

It's funny how this question is constantly asked to make Ranveer seem like some great actor. But Bajirao and Khilji were very much extensions of his real life personality, so expecting other actors to give the same type of performance is stupid!

It's only hard to imagine Ranbir in such roles is because he hasn't done any historical movie yet. By that logic even Amitabh Bachchan has not done any historical roles yet.

So Ranveer is also better than Big B in acting I guess.

Nope. Both actors have their own strengths. Just like RS couldn’t have done Barfi, RK couldn’t have pulled off Bajirao or Khiji either. Ranbir is too boyish to convince me that he can do those kind of roles. But I’m willing to be challenged into changing my mind because I do consider RK a brilliant actor.

Seems like I always have the unpopular opinion in this forum because I loved Ranveer in Padmavat. He was the only reason I didn’t fall asleep in the movie. I can’t imagine anyone playing such a menacing character and still look both terrifying and hot at the same time. 😂
