Your Sonu was only recreating Rafi songs and mimicking Rafi when original voice Udit was giving ATBBs. Deal with it.

That didn't made any difference to udit, because he sang these songs in a bulk quantity which led him to be in a monotonous category, Sonu was lucky enough to get different kinds of songs in his time unlike udit songs or in least same voice in every song....

awards doesnt even count , udit got filmfare for mediocre shaadi walay ganay mehdi laga ke rakhna, , it was nothing so outstanding in term of singing same singing pattern which udit had sung 90,000 times in other songs till his 04 songs🥱 ,....etc ...and for that matter udit is jobless since 2005😉 infact amir never used him after that

for that matter sonu had sung original song for mithoon's Khuda Hafiz .. Akhri kadam tak .......So khuda hafiz 🥱😉

90's made monotonous songs on a larger ground while late 90's and 2000 had better range of songs and are technically difficult songs than lorry type songs of 90's which mostly had hey hey hey aaah aaah hey la la la la la and whats more 🥱 but yeah then those 90's singers used to get same la la la la songs in 2000 too so no variety as such

Sonu, KK , Shaan got more variety of songs than Udit and Shanu , Abhijeet so they were lucky to be peaked in 2000

This one song is greater than entire monotony of 90's ,,,,Not a single classical bandish in 1990's whole decade with Udit, Shanu , Abhijeet and its also because likes of Udit, Shanu and Abhijeet lack classical singing ability , Music director made the simple songs for them then

90s made enough modern songs and lots of songs with an Indian touch but you're just not willing to see over Nadeem-Shravan's style of music.

Udit, Sanu and Abhijeet are much more popular than the 2000s lot because they appealed to everyone. The 2000s batch had one major drawback, most of the country did not listen to Westernised songs. They understood more traditional music and thus stuck to the 90s.

And regarding your song reference, I doubt anyone's even heard it.

@bold: They were trained singers. And Bollywood music did not have a compulsory requirement to have classical songs in their soundtracks. These singers grew up listening to Rafi sahab, Kishore Da, Lata ji, Asha ji....you think they didn't know classical?

And if Western influence means achieving the greatest, why haven't today's songs with their Hinglish lyrics and Westernised singing clicked with the masses?
