I doubt if web series can help him much. When kids and teens or ones in early 20s watch content they relate more to younger artistes. As a kid I also found Hrithik more relatable than Anil, Sanjay, Sunny, Bachchan, Dharam, Mithun etc and I liked Rani, Preity more than Madhuri or Sridevi as a kid.

I began to appreciate senior actors only in their older films which they did when they were younger. I did not like work they did later. Simply because I could not connect with them at all. My preferred Sunny Deol film would also be Ghayal, Arjun, Border rather than Jeet or Gadar though Gadar is biggest grosser of his career. Simply because I find younger Sunny more relatable and suitable for his heroines also.

Anil is relevant as he plays cool, fun loving dad or uncle now in ads or appeared on TVF as well. He thankfully does not do romantic roles opposite girls half his age which is a good thing.

I do not think anyone is going to accept SRK in romantic roles again. Maybe he can be accepted in some other genre like, say, as an undercover agent or cop or coach (if he still does not want to play dad or uncle). I have no idea why he still does romantic films or why makers harp on romantic scenes and songs even to sell a film like Raees which is NOT a romance between SRK and Mahira.

The gulf is only going to increase as time passes.

And there will be a day when people tire out or dislike Khans or undermine their achievements the way some mock or question Amitabh, Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar now or think Abhishek was better than Amitabh blah blah.

Young people get tired of same old stars everywhere on TV, real life, internet. Khans are overexposed, every day there is a Khan film playing on TV. They have been around for too long. They really gotta offer something worthwhile or else their old work is there to see on T.V. even if one feels curious about them someday.

I watch Bachchan films of 70s on TV. Never watched any of his post 90s films except Black and Baghban in theatre. I do not even remember his later work except for Black, Paa, K3G, Baghban, Dev. At the most I watch KBC. And bored of it as well since it has been running for too long and has become predictable anyway.

That's what happens and there is only a limit to which younger viewers engage with work of senior stars.

The only senior star who still has audience rooting for him is maybe Rajinikanth in TN. And gave a superhit like Robot at 60. Never seen Bollywood actors give hits as solo heroes once they age towards 60.

Srk is still huge for people born between 1996-2002. Some of his most known movies came during this time period so they have grown up watching him. Till OSO he was relevant. Don't know about people born after that.

if the movie is good they may go and watch otherwise there isn't much excitement about the fifty plus actors. no drooling over and stuff. i have younger ones in my family and i have asked them this question hence my answer.

Obviously the time for SRK as a romantic hero has passed, unless he wants to do older and mature roles like Dear Zindagi, which he nailed, but mostly because thankfully he was not paired opposite Alia (technically speaking). I said in my post earlier that an action thriller or a tightly knit story with him as an antihero could do wonders as a web series. Hrithik was at some point attached to the Night Manager remake..maybe something like Hugh Laurie's character would be great for SRK.

Yes, expectations of the younger generation, even us millennials, when it comes to content and good scripts are sky-high. But a well-produced webseries in India can and has been done. I think that is the way to go for SRK- whoever is advising him should keep that in mind.

The buzzword is authenticity- why some from the older gen like Selmon Bhai and Anil have a connect with the youth has less to do with their uncle type roles- I'm sure they are not really going for the "heartthrob" status themselves- and more to do with their perceived "authenticity". SRK needs a bit of an image remaking in that vein. I say embrace the anti-hero!

My nephew knows him as "Oggy"... apparently, Oggy from Oggy and the Cockroaches speaks like SRK in Hindi version... 😆

I think they have nostalgia and regard for him as part of their childhood but do not like his work from last couple of years. They may be open to watch him if he does good work though. But they are done with the stage of still watching fav actor's film purely for nostalgic attachment to actor.

Almost everyone from that age group thinks he looks jaded and gaunt nowadays and his recent films were kind of boring.

^^ My cousins still like him, they don't focus too much on movies like we did.. because they have access to more content then we used to.

Not just content, but I was allowed Internet only for half an hour daily when I was in school. We didn't even have SMS packs in Oman like they were there in India.
