Well, you said this -- Katrina isnt vulgar compared to other actresses yet they are literally doing the same thing??

I found Chikni Chameli and Gale Lag Ja awkward to watch with the elders in my family. I’d somersault in the air and do some backflips just to change the video if it was playing. I think the only thing that helps Katrina is the fact that she’s completely expressionless. In fact, during some of her sensuous scenes in Gale Lag Ja, her expressions were akin to taking a painful dump after 3 days of constipation, so it’s hard to label it vulgar. 😂

Though, there’s no way Katrina has never had a vulgar performance. Her scene with Gulshan Grover in Boom still gives me PTSD tremors.

My opinion is when it is "item song", it explicitly means objectification of a woman and objectification involves gestures, nuances, moves and everything that are vulgar including double innuendos in lyrics..

From Kalpana Iyer's dance numbers, to Madhuri's choli to Aish's kajrare to Katrina's .... each of them was/is vulgar..

I find it extremely ridiculous when actresses try to justify their item numbers with words like "innocent" and "aesthetic"...

You have done it, well, just own it as a job done, no need for all those flowery euphemisms and innocuous/beautiful adjectives..

yes, nearly all top actresses have done vulgar songs....I don't think one actress is less than the other for doing so either, just curious why one gets a special treatment compared to others.

While it’s a fact that most of the content back then was very regressive, demeaning and vulgar. So this in comparison looks better because nowadays people might object upon such content which is good. So the makers have become more cautious but still there is a long long way to go. I miss the Guru Dutt era and actresses like Madhubala and Waheeda Rehman who were presented with utmost grace and respect I think that’s what the new gen needs to aspire for not 90s Raveena or even this Katrina( better in comparison but still not there)

Baring anushka sharma..she really is an exception man..not one song i can think of..
