A wedding should be a simple temple or court wedding with only immediate family. After that One party for relatives and friends that too not every mauhalla & acquaintances being called.

Our society is such a tuchi waste that even if we do party in 7 star hotel they will find some fault. Couple are better off spending money on themselves and their future.

Its because of people wanting to show-off how rich they are. It has became a competition of how much money you can spend on your wedding. We ultimately live in a society and have to follow some rules.

The logic here is if we've gone to every grand wedding when we got invited. Then when it's our turn we shouldn't fall short. Warna char log kya kahenge.

The custom of KC (or Teej) is still patriarchal because traditionally men are not required to fast for their wife's long life. Why is that beautiful? This seems like a classic case of sadda kutta Tommy twada kutta kutta.

Kanyadaan is also been removed by girls who don't want to perform it. If a girl out of her choice wants it to be a part of her wedding rituals, that should also be sweet and not derogatory by your post's logic.

Edit: I don't know why blue.ice 1 didn't get tagged in this since I quoted her.

You removed those square brackets [ ] It's a HTML thing I guess

@PranPriye.....I can't take you seriously after I saw you love the post that was taunting me about getting LIKES🤣 but since you are blaming me of something that I didn't even say.....please go and take a look at what all I said.....I specifically said that I like a lot of our Hindu customs and rituals.....but I am against Kanyadaan specifically because that treats girls as someone's property and its offensive....again I do not expect you to get the difference but atleast if you want to blame me....do it for something that I actually said....😆

Not just IF, it's the whole internet. In fact even in the offline world people don't change their perspective so easily.

If a change happens it's slow and steady, a constant effort through numerous experiences, arguments and debates is needed for people to change their mentality.

Exactly

Change doesn't happen unless it hits you. Sometimes even that doesn't change people.

Leave everyone, just look at my own mother.

My dad is from a pure Brahmin family, my mom's dad is Brahmin but my grandma(mom's mom) is Tamang(not Brahmin), so my dad's parents used to discriminate her during religious functions and all that, not eat rice/dal cooked by her and all that shit.

But still that has not changed gotten the caste system away from her, like she doesn't discriminate people on regular basis, her best friend is also someone from the so called lower caste, but whenever there is religious rituals or something like some festival season, she is like, do not eat at XYZ's house, they are from lower caste, and I am like "what, so all the years of discrimination and you still encourage it", and all she says is, "don't try to act smart, this is something going on through centuries, so you think our ancestors were stupid", and than I ignore her like I ignore social media trolls😆.

So I have realised that this system is seriously fcked up.

Leave my mom, she is still Hindu, I have seen many Hindus converted to Christianity, and still have that caste system mentality. I am like astonished by all that😆
