Gadar needed a vulnerable and naive looking face. Amisha was new then so fit the film well.

Gadar is a Sunny Deol and Amrish Puri show throughout. Amisha hardly had much to do except look vulnerable. No established actress would have agreed to do such an insignificant role.

It is one of the most loved films in India, ATBB, had highest footfalls for any film in last 2 decades.

All, without publicity or promotion and when Sunny's career was at a low post flops in 1999, 2000.

Only people across the border dislike it.😂

Otherwise it still gets good ratings on Indian channels.

Not a quality film but good music and some high voltage drama, action, led by Sunny and Amrish.

Critics disliked it also but masses lapped it up. Gadar stormed box office like no tomorrow. A juggernaut. Celebrated golden jubilees in multiple theatres back then.

Proof enough of people loving it.

I think it did have good music.

It is Sunny's most iconic film. So much so that he carried a hand pump even during his election campaign at Gurdaspur in 2019 and spoke Gadar dialogues in his road shows and rallies.

Performance wise I think only Amrish was the best actor in it. The film had really good, superhit music.

Sunny cashed Border and Gadar appeal to the hilt.

Tbh new stars and films are mostly thanda. This is why I am not surprised there are still topics on long dead actors or old films or old stars.

Gadar is on TV every weekend nowadays.

Lot of old hits were aired through last 2 years during lockdowns. Maybe that revived memories of those films and stars.

Gadar is too big a success for an actress like Amisha.

Surprisingly she got KNPH, Gadar and Humraaz as successes despite being an okayish actor.

Anyone would ask if Amisha deserved Gadar?

Years do not matter. We have Rafi vs Kishore wars on YouTube comments even after 3 decades of their deaths. 🤣
