Hirani or Shankar - Better filmmaker?

Both directors are known for making films which please everyone from critics to classes to masses.

They make entertaining movies that are also wrapped in a social message which enlightens the audience as well and makes them think.

Who is a better filmmaker in your opinion and why?

Hirani. More(st) consistent. The gist of each movie is so powerful it stays with you long after you're done watching.

I saw Nayak and I loved it (only film I’ve seen of Shankar) I’ve seen all Hirani movies and honestly I wouldn’t put anything above Nayak. At most 3I is tied with a Nayak (for me personally) don’t care what anyone else says

So Both have good and bad qualities

Between devil and deep blue sea I prefer the land.

Both their films make me uncomfortable. Maybe our sentiments didn't match.

Not the story but their characters and scenes makes me squirms.

@bold, can you elaborate? What scenes and characters make you uncomfortable?
