As I said they would not be naming their kids Karan because they want to mock you but somewhere deep down you will feel like they are mocking you. Because despite knowing you name your kid Karan, not once but twice.

Saif first named his kid Taimur, okay let us say it was ignorance. But than again goes on to name another a Mughal name. He is entitled to that, but if people feel like he is mocking them. They are entitled to that. Their disapproval means nothing obviously, but we cannot say their disapproval is only due to Islamophobia, given Saif has numerous times said stupid things to hurt a section of public. So it may not be deliberate, but if someone feels it is, it isn't exactly without reasons.

It may seem nuts to me or you, but for them it is valid reasons. If a guy names one of their kids after a problematic figure, and gets a backlash. And than again goes on name another kid from a problematic empire. It would feel like they are getting mocked. It may seem ridiculous and OTT to you or me or anyone with common sense, but for them it is not. And it isn't the first time Saif has done something to piss off people. Whether calling India a non-existing country or saying Islam is god made religion or glorifying Raavan or many more things. He has continuously attacked Hindus, so obviously whatever he does, would seem like an attack on Hindus.

No, man. There was a very justified outcry over the name Taimur. They tried to pass it off as “oh it means iron” and pretended like it was not connected to the emperor. Now again they used another emperor name so the public now knows for sure that the first time was on purpose too, not just incidental. This just feels like Saif and Kareena finally showing their cards.

If Jenhangir was the name of the first child and there was no Taimur history, most people would not have cared. If even the liberals are upset, it should tell you something.

I get what you're saying. I dislike their snootiness and open bigotry. But it's just mindboggling to me people are carrying on about the name of someone else's kid.

next time you want to make comparisons, try something that makes sense. 😉😉😉

By this logic, wasn't Nibhaya's rapist named Ram Singh? Yet I'm sure many Indians continued naming their child Ram. This occurred within a decade whereas Taimur and Jehengir and any Mughal existed centuries ago. Yet those names still carry a stigma. So who decides which names her the stigma? what about Alexander the Great, how many he killed in his expansion? What about more recently Ted Bundy?

and before you say Taimur was worse or Jehengir was worse, Ram Singh brutally raped and militated a woman. Are we really going to gaige who's more evil or just say all these people were evil, but not be names themselves. Or this only applies to the Muslim names?

The thing is, it's about history. When people think of 'Ram', they sure as hell don't think of that Nirbhaya rapist b*stard. But when people think of ''Taimur'...there's only one Taimur in history.

But that's just people being selective then. Nirbahya's rape was historic in a way, it was history in the making. It caused such an uproar in India. So people just pick which name they find worse based on the religion then.

Coz isn't Ted Bundy history? Yet all over the United States people use that name. And you cannot say Ted Bundy or Richard Ramirez aren't infamous or not historic. They're the most merciless serial killers.

All I'm seeing is excuses made for names associated with non-Muslim villains in history. Names that are commonly used today despite their people doing some of the worse things possible.

Objectively speaking -

an asshole and effed up dude named Timur torture and killed people centuries ago in the most brutal way.

an asshole and effed up dude named Ted Bundy raped and mutilated so many women over the course of YEARS in the United States. Before his death he admitted that the numbers of his killings are in the 3 digits.

An asshole and effed up dude named Ram gang raped, tortured and mutilated an innocent girl on a bus.

But only the Muslim names will cause uproar. Isn't this silly and selective? And because Jehengir was the name of a Mughal that automatically hurts sentiments.
