But she just wanted to live her life as an adult, and her dad was trying to baby her like Indian dads do. She never actively tried to pretend to be white or stuff like that. She was pretty neutral towards her roots-- no hate, no love.

I don't remember the little details but that's the impression her character left on me right from the beginning of the movie... from dating that white guy, Charles, who was already married and divorced three times to doing things just to spite her parents. She shouldn't have been living with them at all. Someone who wants to live life on their own terms should move out asap cuz it's impossible to live a "British" life like in that movie WHILE living under the same roof as your very-much-desi parents.

Define realistic ? I was born and raised in America. What should I act like ? Whatever the rules are I Guarantee I hardly followed them 😆

Now granted I’m 2nd generation non resident Pakistani. But it’s kind of the same thing.

Nothing is set in stone on now our lives turn out. . Whether I end up as president or I end up on death row 😆😆

If being religious is culture then it doesn't depend on the country ...it depends on the religion....an Indian Muslim or Indian Christian...won't do to the temple or follow the Hindu religious stuff....they follow theirs...does it mean they don't follow Indian culture?? Similarly...the Americans follow the religion they are from...they go to Churches, Mosques, Gurudrwara or Temples based on that....like I said before....it has nothing to do with Indian or American culture..it has to do with religion.

I talked about pooja path because some people here brought it up (including you). Even apart from pooja path, we have culture in our songs, in the dances, social customs like saying namaste, touching feet, learning languages, the kind of "nuske" we adopt in day-to-day life, rangoli, mehndi, indigenous wedding customs (even Indian Muslims and Christians have their own unique wedding customs different from others) etc. Religious customs is just an example since more than 80% are Hindus.

She wanted to move out. That's when Rishi Kapoor pulled that trick and took her to India.

Well, you certainly pulled a Namaste London Katrina when you got married to a stranger from your country.

But I didn’t plan ahead like Jazz did. I was literally flying by the seat if my pants 😃 😆

Forgive me for this, but I read Jazz as "jizz", before my eyes went to "pants". Blame the mobile layout for having the words right one on top of the other.

The whole Namaste London conversation just reminded me of Katrinas RIDICULOUS character in JTHJ where she was praying in a church asking Jesus to not let her marry an Indian man coz they're so BROWN and that she wants a handsome white man LMAOOOOOOOOO! I remember choking on my dorito during that scene 😂 it almost killed me! Is this really what Indian media thinks of NRIs? Damn.
