Why could Konkona Sen Sharm not make it big in mainstream BW?

Konkona is supremely talented and according to me, she can do all kinds of cinema with effortless ease. I find her beautiful in an unconventional way, but even if her looks are not accepted by mainstream audiences, wasn't her talent explosive enough to earn her a place in the hallowed portals of commercial mainstream cinema?

Or do you think she was clear enough from the beginning that she wanted a more offbeat careers and her choices reflected that?

She's brilliant in each and every role she does. Look at her nuanced act in Dolly, Kitty our who Chamakte Sitaare. Look at her in Wake Up Sid. Look at her stellar act in Ajeeb Dastans.

She's definitely the most brilliant performer we have after Tabu. But unlike Tabu, she seems to have confined herself to offbeat cinema more than commercial cinema.

She doesn’t meet the BW beauty standards

Did she try that much ? She did more of that indie stuff. An if she suspected those films to be hits she was deluding herself

She did a film or 2 under YRF in side roles

I guess Omkara is a popular film. But she’s least memorable in it 😆

She had the best chemistry with Ranbir.

Great time for Konkona to showcase her talent with OTT on the rise. Hope she does more work now.

Her career is mostly with strong characters and roles where she actually had a screen presence. Tbh, I think it's probably intimidating to directors to have a female lead have more of an impact on a film than the male.

Don't know about that but I think the audience does appreciate her talent and she is one of the finest actresses there is.

She is a fabulous actor and very talented. She totally deserves more appreciation and recognition.
