Why not spend money on story or writers ?

It’s not only Salman . All the big stars have so much money , starpower and clout . Why not spend it on getting a decent story or writer, rather than spending on trashy vfx to look young or stupid songs with actresses of half their age ? Except Aamir, most of them are not allowing Indian cinema to progress

Even Aamir's next film is Hollywood film remake. Where are they spending money on story writers ? Hollywood is filled remakes and reboots.

Becuase they know that their movie sells if they show off their abs and a heroine is dangling on their arm. That people (atleast the cinema goers in India) don't (didn't) care about the storyline.

Eg. housefull 4.

On OTT, if you don't have a good story, no one cares about the movie.

Eg. Drive

Now that corona has happened, maybe SRK will try to get things right, Salman is egoistic and doesn't care about anything anymore becuase his fandom is always there for.

The big stars know that in India it is more about star-culture than content. It has always been this way. Stars have a following which transcends logic. They know they can get away with anything, because people blindly worship them.

I myself will watch any Deepika or Hrithik movie, regardless of reviews. It's all about loving the stars.

Even audience are rejecting such movies . Kalank, Dabangg 3 failed before the pandemic.

Because we don’t hold actors to higher standards 😒. It’s starting to shift a bit but there is still a long way to go for Bolly to truly progress.

Was it though ? From what I have seen early Bollywood was pretty good(Mother India , Mughal-E-Azaam etc ).

Yeah I couldn’t sit thru those films

I don’t want to sound insensitive. But hell it’s a little late in the game for me to be concerned with that now 😆 Probably the oldest movie I can watch from start to finish is Ram Lakhan from 1989. Anything older I find myself thinking about monkeys wrestling in my head 😆
