Honestly those days I used to read a lot of fiction and now its long since I read a book. There is a feeling of stagnation since I stopped reading books.Want to really start doing it again.:/

You should! Reading takes a lot of concentration, but it's worth it. There are so many good books out there. I'm currently reading Jhumpa Lahiri's latest as of now.

Jab main chhota baccha tha main badi sharaarat karta tha

Ab jo main bada ho gaya hun badi sharaarat karta hoon

Jab main chhota baccha tha har cheez ke paise deta tha

Ab jo main bada ho gaya har cheez ke paise leta hoon

Jab main chhota baccha tha galti karne se darta tha

Ab jo main bada ho gaya bas galti karna chahta hoon

@OP you were a beautiful child but I agree with the above user - Never put up personal info about yourself in a public forum. Ppl are moving mad online and doxxing is out of control.

On topic - I was a quiet and sneaky kid. Having crazy strict parents turned me into the biggest liar lol. Omg my lying skills were a talent! I used to feel guilty about being so deceitful but as I grew older i realised that I'm actually quite an honest person and only lied to protect myself from my suffocating parents.

I sucked at everything. Used to fail in 4 out of 6 subjects. Obviously that meant I couldn't take part in extracurriculars since teachers would insist I focus on studies and not sports or culturals.

And I was mischief maker too. Used to get into trouble very often because I used to not play by the rules. I use to even get into verbal/physical fights with my classmates. Once my principal locked me up in the biology lab since it had a human skeleton model and thought it would scare me. I pretended to be scared but it was nothing. However, I did dread the PTA meeting the most. All teachers used to bitch about me and then my parents would give me a hearing for the next few days.

I also never used to share my marked answer scripts with parents because I didn't want to have those awful conversations. So I used to forge their signature for that and for taking extra leaves. Of course I would get caught and get a thrashing once in a while.

I used to get the most boring lunch box also, so I would always be curious about other people's lunch and would always take big bites of their yummy meals and snacks.

I didn't have any close friends (I mean I was such a loser who would befriend me?). I used to play with my apartment's watchman's kids and my mom used to hate it because I began speaking "their" language and started to pick up "their" habits.

So finally in my eighth grade I was put in a strict boarding school, where they ensured I studied all day. That was the worst time (initially), but they were successful because I got 90% in school board exams and every other exam after that.

And then they drilled IIT/IIM into my head and made me ambitious so I was busy achieving those. So I have this kind of rags to riches story, which my old teachers simply refuse to believe that it really is me. 😆

People-pleaser, ended up having crushes pretty easily, obsessed with Bollywood and read a lot of fiction ( Jane Austen , Mills and Boon, Dickens , Harry Potter etc). Not good at extra-curriculars and somewhat inconsistent in studies ( I either did well or flopped hard lol ).

Growing up I stopped being people pleaser and happy to be with only 2-3 close friends in real life . Also my Bollywood obsession switched to K-pop 😆.

Mostly a troubled childhood. I was scared about everyone and everything. The only beautiful thing was my 30 mins of dance class everyday ♥️. As a toddler I could have talked a mile a minute, is what my family says. I had emotional issues and was so so messed up as a child, that today's me looks like a beautiful dream to me only.

Also a strict convent school might have had a lot more to contribute to my emotional mess more than my parents could have realised. I never coped up with studies good until some 5th std.

Now it's all fine and beautiful. I feel like I'm living my childhood now 🤣. Getting into trouble for mischief, being crazy and all that♥️

I was an opinionated little fcuk, dramatic, honest to a fault and spoilt rotten. My whole young life revolved around who was pretty vs ugly, who was rich vs poor and saying WHY to everything. I dreamt of becoming a vampire when I was a child (thanks to being obsessed with horror films) and would dance to Ek Do Teen on repeat.

I would get my parents to buy me barbie dolls by telling them that the barbie is staring at me and no matter how much I looked away, the barbies eyes would continue to stare - telling me that I should buy it.

If I’d fall down, I wouldn’t move from the ground until someone picked me up. If I hurt my arm, then somehow I would lose the ability to walk. In fact, I once fell in the middle of the road and refused to get up even when a car was beeping at me. A couple ran to me concerned as I absolutely refused to budge from my position (laying face down on the ground). The fear of being kidnapped was the only reason I got up and ran back home - otherwise I was content blocking traffic just to get my dramatic ass carried by my parent. 😆

Horrible I know.
