Oh, no. Thats not whats being said here. You can see the posts for yourself about how we shouldn't tell girls they should aspire to have it all.

If it were about leaving to personal choice, it would've been a diff story. But here, the same people supporting homemakers are denigrating working women.

I'm all for choice if you have the financial wherewithal to have choices to begin with.

how about that?

Show me where I belittled homemakers, please? You won't be able to. Because I didn't. At the same time, many of those who support homemakers are busy tearing down the idea women should want to work.

Respect should go both ways, or it's not respect.

All of them are happy with their life, lucky they got partners that they love. Shahid found someone that looks like Amrita but she is younger, him and Amrita was good looking together. Sonakshi looks pretty. Priyanka is married to my favorite singer Nick Jonas so cute. And kareena is married to rich guy saif and she is in her 40’s so I don’t know why people keep saying she married an old guy like she is in her 20’s, they look good together. Everyone has a choice. Shahid wanted a housewife that’s good he found one. Actresses are working and sometimes put their career first which is great for actresses too

i am not talking about you but since you are the making conclusion of the entire thread i am assuming you have actually read all the pages and then how come you missed points where several people including ME advocated that people whether a man or a woman s life choices should be respected if they want to pursue their career or want to be homemakers

I am talking strictly about the posts degrading working women.

Bottomline:

This was a thread made (I'm assuming) to talk about Shahid's supposed sexist traits, true or not.

Instead, we now have 2 sides. Those supporting women's right to work deride homemakers.

Those supporting homemakers decry women wanting to have it all.

The winner: patriarchy, thanks to women themselves.

I tried to read the first two pages where Mira and Shahid were just getting derided for the choices they made about their own lives, like as if Shahid kidnapped Mira, forcefully married her, made her pregnant twice and destroyed her life. Likewise Mira was judged for choosing a so called comfortable life instead of putting her ass out and dragging it everywhere in the name of collecting experiences for herself.

I quoted your post because it looked like you summed up the entire thread. If not then my bad. We seem to agree with each other on - live and let live, which is where my debate ends. :)

If we talk about women choosing to be housewives without a backup plan as a career I think it’s a wrong move because anything can happen, you can end up a single mom and you need work experience. When your raised by a single mom, you will know how important it is to be financially independent. If your Manushi Chhillar who has a doctor degree decide to be a housewife than that’s good at least she has a degree to support her if anything happens in the future. But without a backup plan for career or work experience choosing to be a housewife is bad choice at least from the examples I saw in real life where they stayed for financial reasons. I know how it feels to not have money to stand on your own which is a horrible feeling. But Mira is married to famous actor so she became famous by him so that’ll help her. Otherwise working is good for your own future, nobody knows what happens next in life. But at least try to build your own first
