Tandav is getting polarized views coz a lot of folks getting offended about showing sympathy for Muslims, some events that were highlighted just didn't sit well with them. Also some scene where a Muslim actor, who's playing a hindu character is enacting a hindu god onstage as part of theater. It's causing lots of scandal. As predicted. Show is actually good!

This is oversimplifying and normalising the mocking of Hindu gods.

No one gets offended for Muslim character playing a Hindu God. But It’s the incredulous depiction of Hindu gods that offends people.

Can we for once come out of the eternal Muslim victim mode (actor is not getting love because he is Muslim type statements) and ask why is it okay to mock Hindu gods and not other Gods or messenger?

Really? Coz all i can read is statements about how Saif is muslim and Zeeshan is a muslim and mocking hindu gods. It was literally one scene showing theater students performing. It had nothing to do with the show. The entire show, 9 episodes of it is about corrupt politicians. But this 10 second shot is what catches scandal.

A trash is a trash is a trash. Stop using the Muslim victim card all the time. It's pathetic. A good content will be always hailed no matter the religious connotations.

Everything would have been okay if The character playing shiva won’t utter the F word along with other expletives.

They could have avoided that and this wouldn’t have angered anyone.

Its is the 21st century....and there is people like this who still judge people based on their religion,caste,race and skin colour...its shameful....even i am a hindu brahmin but i didnt feel that scene as offensive...to me its was well done...i m brought up to be open minded...to treat people with humanity....

Not everything is hindu muslim. People can have wide range of opinions

True. I got pissed too when I saw it. And I would've felt the same way for any other religion too.

Also Saif, AAZ and Zeeshan are known faces who are currently popular.

Anushka was also blamed for Paatal Lok's controversy...so it has to do with the known faces.

Because they are capable of influencing individuals. After all, you don't know or remember the guy who played Shiva, but you know the others by face and name because they are influential and a brand.

And off screen personality also matters.

When Sacred Games season 2 was trashed for being anti-Hindu and Muslim victimisation, people hardly said anything against Nawaz.

Because Nawaz rarely offends people with his off screen political/religion talk, while Saif and Zeeshan have time and time again spoken things which irates the right wing.

So if anything anti-Hindu or perceived anti-Hindu pops up people are like, "Oh yeh haramkhor hain, tho phir toh aisa hona hi tha".😆

While I don't think that scene was anything anti-Hindu, as they were merely using Shiva's image to tell the world that Azadi chants aren't anti-national. But it was enough to irate people, because well JNU ka image hi aisa hain, naam sunte hi chappal se marna ka dil karta hain.😆

This series is plain boring and so lengthy. Only trailer was the best thing about this one.
