Varun Sara found their niche?

I'll be honest and say I don't like either in any of their movies I've seen so far, but for some reason the stupidity content and their chemistry in coolie no 1 appeals to me. Sara is great at the nostalgic 90s comedy and expressions, I actually love her here! While I don't care for Varun's acting much, but he compliments Sara really well!! I hope they do more slapstick fun movies together like Govinda/Karishma.

Varun has regressed as an actor/artist with each film. Here he is at his absolute worst I have seen, the overacting, the hamming, the facial distortions in the name of comedy.

I wouldn't write him off completely, because I liked him in Badlapur and October, and I think he can do better than this.

Sara I think is intolerable- no opinions on her.

But if this is their niche, and people actually like them in this, then good for them!

I watched Street Dancer, so my standard of films is pretty low. Even then I don't want to watch Coolie because Sara just doesn't work for me, these kinds of masala roles I feel highlights her lack of skills. She's trying too hard to go the Sonaakshi way but alas won't work.

Sara lacks what Sonakshi has -- in both looks and acting. Sonakshi is quite underrated IMO. Sonakshi fails in female-centric films not because of acting but choice of films. In flowerpot, I like Sonakshi the best. I agree it won't work for Sara because she can't emote well and she hits a major roadblock when it comes to appeal.

Varun is good in masala/commercial movies.Everything just happens to go wrong when he attempts a remake 😆. He needs fresh scripts for this and I m sure he will do great.

As for Sara I don't know yet.Didn't like the trailer.

I am loving Sara and Varun in the coolie no 1 songs. I love Varun's songs and I have liked Sara in all her movies, even in Love aaj kal except for the "mujhe tang karne lage ho scene".

and both off screen just seem so comfortable in their skin and sweet.

so can't wait to watch coolie #1, hopefully it's plays here on amazon prime too.

In my opinion, Sara was the scene stealer in Kedarnath, ssr's suicide sort of has rewritten the kedarnath reviews. She didn't have much to do in Simba but she was great in the songs.

I just feel it's so unfair how ssr suicide changed some people's perception of Sara in media/ad world. how come no taunts on social media for bharti, shraddha, Arjun and the umpteen others who were questioned by ncb, but so many for Sara and deepika. And deepika and sara seem to be the sweetest girls in bollywood. and so conveniently when the male superstars were mentioned, the entire circus went quite, but no one cares for the women.

anyways back on topic, looking forward to a masala film, hopefully it's a good enjoyable typical David Dhawan film.

It's so crazy to me that in today's day and age someone who could do movies like Badlapur and October would willingly do such terrible, cringeworthy movies and acting.

Sara is such a disappointment. She is not a great actress but kedarnath made me hope. Calling everything else she has been doing after trash content would be insulting trash content.

True!

It's like going one step forward and then two steps backward. I can understand it's his father's production but surely his acting need not be so cringe-inducing and more understated.

So their niche is being caricatures of previous generation actors?
