For male bonding we have movies like Dil Chahta Hai, Zindagi na Milegi Dobara, Pyar ka Punchnama, Bhavesh Joshi and countless others.
For female bonding we have the atrocious Veere di Wedding and one-in-a-million Dor.

You can consider cocktail, Angry Indian Goddesses and Thappad too. But yeah, movies with female friendships that are affected by men are almost nil in BW

*Not affected.
Thappad had no real female bonding in a friendly way, right? I'm talking about 'girls just having fun' kinda movie.

Sorry, typo😆 Well, Parched and Angry Indian Goddesses then😆
You forgot Aisha...it was a fun, sweet movie on girl bonding.
Ladies vs Ricky Behl. Forget Ranveer and Anushka. The best thing about the movie is the these girls from three different backgrounds(Parineeti is a nouveau riche brat,Dipannita is a corporate shark and Aditi is a middle class widow who's running the family business with her FIL) bonding over a common cause. And best of all these girls have a life, jobs which they love and people in their life who love them and support them. Of course there's the obligatory chick-flick shopping, going for an exotic vacation and bitching about the man who cheated them. But it's all part of 'The Plan' and never feels shallow and superficial.
Bollywood has never been good at making films on imaginary things.
Because women in India are not interesting. They are not on the cheer squad or acapella choir. There are no strip clubs or covens. No baseball teams or roller derby. They are not fashionistas who go to law school. They don't have affairs with three men who could be the father of their child. They don't share a pair of jeans. There are no hoods where they grow up or southern towns to run cafes in. Dull boring women. Who would watch a movie about them?

I would love for someone to make a Thelma and Louise style caper with Tabu and Sushmita Sen.
