And you’re right especially if the said tall skinny girls have very broad build or are completely flat with no curves it can actually be kind of hard to find clothes that complement their figure...

Actually come to think of it barely anyone looks good in everything (or looks good in nothing 😂)...

I am 5”1 (hopefully I’ll grow a bit more too, I just grew an inch recently though I crossed 18) and I rely on heels completely when I wear desi clothes, or western party wear... and I always get told I suit desi clothes 🤷🏽‍♀️... if you just wear heels, desi clothes (with the exception of very big sarees in heavy fabrics or long anarkalis) are actually more flattering if you’re shorter imo!

And I have the opposite issue in the boob department lol so those stylish tiny blouses are out of question unless I want to look obscene 😂😂... those are basically made just for girls with a small bust, any more than a C and it looks really cheap 🙃... but then again there are designs for every body shape just like there are for every height, you just have to find them 🤷🏽‍♀️

Yeah I agree that at the end of the day though confidence is key tbh, the general vibe the person gives off and how they carry themselves plays a big part in determining how they look!

Bollywood has recently set this benchmark that pale, sharp featured plus little bit of instagram model like, tall girls are pretty. Such is not the case.

There are many styles for each body type, the tall thin flat girls you are talking about are called banana shaped or rectangle shaped.

Tbh if you are confident you'll rock everything 😆 And 18 is no age barrier for height, I have grown till after 21 and am still growing. I used to be around 5'1" when I was 17 and I wore both Indian and Western wear. Honestly just find the right print for you, the rest of the work is done by heels.

I don't like those tiny blouses too lol, I find it to be sleazy for some reason. I know I can wear it considering my chest situation but I won't. Why something as elegant as a saree is being sexualised to this level, I can't understand. I am okay with something like this

sleeveless saree blouse | Sleeveless blouse designs, Sleeveless blouse saree, Saree designs

Or these

Latest Deepika Padukone Designer Digital Print Party Wear Saree (Multi Colour)

Bollywood actress janhvi kapoor Blue Saree | Indian saree blouses designs, Saree blouse designs, Indian sari dress

But I run the other way if I have to wear something like these:

Designer Blouses - Your Daily Dose of Fashion | Backless prom dresses, Backless blouse designs, Saree blouse designs

Those who can pull it off, great for them, I just don't feel comfortable 😆 Its not Satya Yuga that we can wear only a piece of cloth around our chests, back then I think that was the fashion trend 😆

Yeah the new beauty standards in BW (you have to have two or more out of very white skin, rectangle body shape, sharp features or your not pretty 😂) are odd imo, considering BW used to actually have very diverse looking heroines all through the past (up till the 2010s) and now even HW is making an effort to be more diverse 🙃...

And yeah I agree that while normal sleeveless blouses (like the ones DP and Jahnvi are wearing in the first set of pics) are usually ok, the bikini style blouses are OTT in terms of exposure... I only wear desi clothes to family get-togethers, functions, weddings or mandir so such blouses would be out of question even if I had a different shape 😂😂

The thing about carrying on growing post 21 gives me hope 😭
