Here, people are playing a oscillating game between offended due to hypocrisy and offended due to hurting their religious sentiments. They should decide which subset of it is the problem. I am cool with people objecting to the hypocrisy part. My problem is the not with the hypocrisy part but with the "my festival my rules" part.

The two are not mutually exclusive, their religious sentiments have been hurt, AND, the respect that companies give to Islam and Christian festivals is not extended to Hindu festivals.

People have the right to offend, but they also have the right to be offended, freedom of speech works both ways, you can't tell a religious person how they should react to your offence, as long as they're not breaking the law.

You are not going to decide whether it is for celebration or for Puja. Puja part is for theists. Even the theists themselves don't agree who to worship. They worship according to their beliefs. Any celebration that is attached to a festival is NOW a part of festival. If you don't think that is a part of that festival or that is the correct supposed festival because Puja is somehow the true essence, that is upto your belief. Even a simple quote from Wikipedia is enough to state how the ways differ:

I would need evidence for this otherwise it is just you trying to impose your (possibly pseudo-scientific) beliefs to make it into a code of conduct. Two points here: many people can control their thoughts pretty well regarding sex, and even if they cannot, many people don't care about spirituality/connecting to God. That doesn't mean the festival is not for them. Looks you missed the original point of my post about non-religious or non-Hindus.

Well this is you trying to nitpick and I knew this was coming. So how much time difference is allowed. 1 day is enough, no flirting on Puja day and then being naughty next day is okay? What about 12 hrs? Is there something divine happening in 1 day that makes it okay on doing it next day. My house has Puja on both the days and yeah one of them is a bigger but still you see.

Better be opinions and pretty dogmatic ones at that. You can call out the original post for the hypocrisy. I assume you will fine if there was no hypocrisy- i.e., they make the same post for all other festivals like Eid etc. I would be happy with that too. That is a positive news for me.

They very well knew what they were doing disrespecting one of the most sacred festival after outrage just delete your post and say sorry, not done.
