Terrorists are openly living there with state support. They continuously sending militants across border... While India is trying to progress ahead we are from time to time anchored down by oh so lovely neighbors.

If it became one of the biggest blockbusters of all time back then, imagine what it would do today. It would double the business of Sholay if released now. 😆

I don't think it was all that jingoistic to be honest. It showed both sides of the border acting the same way. First half, they have fundamentalists attack Sunny Deol's house. The second half, you have fundamentalists from the other side. The Pakistani Army was trolled though. 😆

I know it's difficult, but there's no point in holding grudges and hating them only because they hate us. We can win them only with love, not hate.

read my post against, I used the word, "cunningness of Pakistani authorities", I ain't blaming or hating the whole.nation or whole population.

I never watched the full film I only watched some select scenes and watched the songs.

I don’t know what scenes we’re in the movie. I’ll say it’s just a movie 😆

Back in 2001, all the elements of flag-weaving sentimentality worked in its favour. Anil Sharma’s cinema was never known for realism or restraint, soberness or subtlety; he knew how to correctly create OTT potboilers with immense help from canvas and clichéd characters. And Gadar was one of them, arguably one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi Cinema.

Do you guys feel such jingoistic movies are problematic?

Bold - When it was released it was none of that, it was at least as far as commercial movies go, a groundbreaking film in BW believe it or not...

What was so problematic about the movie? It’s been a while I watched it but I remember loving Sunny Deol and Amisha’s love story and also the songs. Other than that, I don’t remember anything.

I was wondering why this great actress doesn't have any work after the superhit success of Gadar 2. She has faded away again. I am so confused....
