Gavaskar should not have involved Anushka in his caustic jibe at Virat, at all. He has been a batsman and knows there are off days. Comment on ineptitude by Virat, critique that to his heart's desire. But leave his personal life aside to play whatever he wants. Gendein is hindi of bowling and both get a double meaning touch more so before Anushka is expecting.

but what's the need for that? i dont see him mentioning other cricketers wives or indulging in their personal life when they don't perform well. He was wrong and he needs to be called out.

I have never heard any other spouse of a cricketer get mentioned in an offhanded comment when they fail to score. Was anyone bringing in Tendulkar's wife, Dhoni's wife, Sehwag's wife, Dravid's wife when they couldn't score or their form was bad? Its so absurd, lol.
