At this point, if an agency has arrested Rhea for further interrogation,
That's the point na, the media is clearly missing out on the point of 'further investigation' and that's the reason why people are rejoicing over the arrest given how it has nothing to do with Sushant's death and what she has been accused of. The CBI and ED has still not made any arrest regarding that. People are just happy that she is arrested. Bas. Even if that doesn't give a closure to Sushant's death.
I see no point in bringing up gender card or patriarchy.
I don't think this whole patriarchy thing was brought up randomly one fine day. People who have posted about patriarchy are the same people who have been complaining about Rhea's unfair media trial since day 1 that included systematic harrasment of black magic, jaadu tona and what not by the media. Not even one fourth of the media trial that she was faced was given to Suraj Pancholi or Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend when they were blamed for the suicide. Divya Bharti's husband was blamed for her death. We all know who he is now. Leave Sushant's family, the media and SM warriors blamed Rhea and projected her as the blood thirsty girfriend behind his money with some black magic narrative almost immediately after Sushan't death. If that is not gender bias then I don't know what is. Also this whole patriarchy thing started after she wore that dress and went to NCB. Someone on twitter posted a screenshot of that, it went viral and then people started posting it with justice for rhea hashtag. So I do see the point of bringing it up, especially by those who HAVE been vocal about the media trial from the first day.
And in any case, I am strictly against consumption of drugs including weeds.
That toh even I am but that's our personal stance irrespective of how openly these are available and consumed by people around throughout the country, even at a state sponsored and publicized event like Kumbh Mela. But it's extremely hypocritical of agencies who don't even bat an eyelid when common people are indulging in such stuff but suddenly decide to 'break the cartel' once celebrities and high profile cases are involved.
Most middle class Indians are not much aware about drugs. It isn’t easily available like big metro cities. Upper and rich class really need to come out of their bubbles and see majority of India of what it is. This rose tinted causes that BW and pseudos take hardly matters to majority of population. Drug consumption and procurement is wrong. Kese bhi twist kar lo.
And this is the biggest misconception and stereotype that drugs are only used by urban people in metro cities by the rich and upper class. Please read the Magnitude of Substance Abuse report by the Ministry of Social Justice that was out last year. Please look at the states with the highest consumption of drugs in India and please let me know how many metro cities feature in these data charts. If drugs was only an urban and rich problem then the Punjab Govt wouldn't have been struggling so bad to get the state out of the drug problem. So is the case with several other states in the country. Just because it doesn't happen around you or in your state doesn't mean it doesn't happen anywhere else. Please ask half of the middle class people to talk to their younger kids and they will start getting awareness about drugs. What do you think half of the kids from these middle class families staying across India in colleges and hostels do there? Those who have the strong will to say no, they don't do drugs and those who don't have that obviously end up doing. Nothing related to rich-poor/middle class-upper class/urban-rural. That's just stereotypes shown in films and pop culture.
