Why does enjoying mean leaving your kids and family behind though? You can take a vacation with them too..

No body says dropping everything is acceptable.. isn't that what balance is all about? You prepare for a vacation.. not decide one fine day that you want to go and drop everything else on a whim.. you take offs.. you prepare.. That's where balance comes in

Which job has no leaves? Dont all jobs allow annual leaves of 25 days?

Why does fun or doing what you love has to be by detaching?

Taking a vacation with family is no vacation especially when kids are small and dependent on you. In fact dont like vacations because they mean more work, during, before and after. kids at home is circus enough.....🤪 We take vacations but it is vacation for them, not for us.

Not all jobs have paid leaves........reality of job markets......I have worked for the same company for 18 years now, did not get maternity leaves, and dont get paid leaves even now. Even as I continue with that, switched to a teaching career and that is equally taxing...again leaves are not leaves but breaks to prepare for later work.....

As far as I know, Laila in the movie was a freelancer who didn’t have a stable job and went here and there as a diving instructor and everyone knows that the income of an instructor is not enough to go on so many vacations so it’s kinda unrealistic the character. Where as Arjun was a workaholic and there is nothing wrong in being workaholic. You can’t be careless like he became as the movie went on.

As I said, depends and varies from person to person.. All my siblings get paid annual leaves and maternity leaves so I can only speak from my experience

Same goes about kids

No.. Laila was a fashion student in London who took break for 3 months every year to do what she loved

Fashion student at 30 odd? She must be rich af and once again you can't compare student life to professional life. In student life, we have summer break but in the professional life there is no break unless you request for the leave

It was Chetan Bhagat who said while film is enjoyable it’s unrealistic

He said his Kai Po Che is more real 😆

So request for leave..

She also earned during her vacations wese.. By being an instructor.. so she worked and did what she loved to do alongside

Didn't HR ask for a break? In the end, he had decided he would go on a vacation with Laila.. Vacation and not give up on his career.. Considering he was quite good at his job, he could have started something of his own even if his company let him go due to the break.. He never said he would just laze around the world for the rest of his life

But could you tell this to someone who is in the beginning of his career to keep on taking breaks? Hrithik was good enough and probably could have started his own thing but most of the businesses at that age don't really succeed, I know now you probably gonna use the example of Bezos or Gates but for 1 Bezos or Gates there are thousands or probably million people whose business flop pretty bad so not everyone is gonna have the stroke of luck and there are quite a few examples in my own family who failed when they started their own business

25 days of annual leave is like a basic right.. If you don't get that, its not a job but slavery

There is a time in life when you have to be professional and think about your present and future. You can't be carefree all the time.

I think it's a very good question and I have often thought about it when watching ZNMD and films like Tamasha.

To me the answer is, at least in the case of ZNMD, that you don't have to give up your career obviously. But in Hrithik's case it did seem like the wrong things were driving him- despite being the most successful, to me, he appeared to be the most insecure, which is something Katrina's character also picks up on. He seemed in awe of Abhay's wealth- and even implies Abhay is marring Kalki's character for money - also felt like he had a point to prove to Farhan's character after his girlfriend cheated on him. He's also shown as dissatisfied since his recent girlfriend dumped him for being a workaholic. I think the point is that there has to be a balance in life and even if you succeed in your career, that is only half the pie. Isnt that true in life?

i dont think he quits his job in the end, he just learns to appreciate personal relationships and live a fuller life and focus on what's important. You may have great success, but could still be a failure in your personal life.

Also, it's a film about rich people I guess. so in today's climate a film about travel and finding yourself might seem a little out of place hehe. And definitely does not apply to someone starting their career.
