Do you agree with the message of ZNMD movie?

The message is that you should your life to the fullest and not care about work or anything other than love and fun. Tbh this message might look good in a movie but is it practical? IMO it's not. There is a time in life when you have to be professional and think about your present and future. You can't be carefree all the time.

Agreed. There is a very thin line between being carefree and careless.

Having said that, too many people take life way too seriously to a point that they're suffocating from the inside. I think that's what the movie was trying to show and they did a very good job of it. Except for Katrina's character, I mean you cant survive by just doing things you enjoy. She wouldnt be able to live comfortably if she hadnt got matried to rich Hrithik.

But you gotta do what you gotta do. Hrithik in the movie was a well-established person who could have worked anywhere even if he got sacked from his job and probably earnt enough money for a good 10 years but same can't be said for a guy who is in the early 20s and just trying to find his feet in the professional world.

I totally disagree with the message. It won't work unless you are in a utopian paradise.

A middle class person like me can't live like that.. Life is really harsh. The movie mirrors the fantasy of a niave teenager.. Even the wealthy need to work hard to remain rich and can't live like the way people did in the movie.

In real life Money needs to be invested wisely, it can't be kept in fixed deposits because that can't match inflation.. Investments need to be be watched over. Real Estate investments need to be maintained else someone might trespass.. Can't leave everything to managers as they might mismanaged or embezzle money if the owner is not watching over them. That is how careless zamindars of yore lost their estate. Kings needed to be watchful else they might be overthrown in a Palace coup.. He needs to be prepared for facing foreign invasion.. Queens used to be on their toes lest someone else wins over the king and she loses favour..

Basically no one can live life king size like that.. Scions of business family have made their lives a royal mess and blowing away a major chunk of their inheritance.

Making money is difficult, staying rich is even more difficult.

I for one, didn’t get that message. To me it just reiterated that ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’.

That's not the message of the movie.. the message of the movie was that one needs to strike a balance.. Like Laila.. she took breaks in her work to do what she loved frequently while Hrithik had no time to do anything else apart from work.. the message was that life is too short to live with regrets.. make time for everything and don't let a particular thing consume you completely like marriage was consuming Aditi or Work was overpowering Hrithik's life

Movie preached irresponsibility as a virtue. There was nothing in there about balance.

One of my peeves about 3 Idiots also. While I agree that you should try to make a living at what you love, 99.9% of the world is not fortunate enough to find success in fields like photography. Supporting yourself AND finding time for your passion would've made more sense.

Its my life is the biggest lie being purported by music and movies. It is never your life alone, anything and everything I do has a reactive effect on everyone's life who are attached to my life. It sounds great to be able to drop everything, strike a balance, all that sounds nice to hear and some may say oh you can find a way and you must but it really really is very difficult when you are in the thick of things with jobs and no leaves, kids and all the mounting fees. Only time this kind of detachment can happen is if you have no kids or your kids are big enough to care for themselves.

Even if you do leave your kids with family, you are all the time thinking of them consciously or unconsciously and so that really does not solve the purpose.

Moral of the story: Enjoy, ghassao, enjoy if you survive the ghassaoing 🤪

Varies and depends from person to person..

Why does enjoying mean leaving your kids and family behind though? You can take a vacation with them too..

No body says dropping everything is acceptable.. isn't that what balance is all about? You prepare for a vacation.. not decide one fine day that you want to go and drop everything else on a whim.. you take offs.. you prepare.. That's where balance comes in

Which job has no leaves? Dont all jobs allow annual leaves of 25 days?

Why does fun or doing what you love has to be by detaching?
