Thanks a lot guys for keeping the place updated !! So basically the updates here -

1. Mumbai police has been shamed by SC and torn apart by the opposition based on the process of investigation that's been conducted so far. MP has been taught how to do investigation and what to do post Post Mortem, i.e. lodge an FIR or close the case, which they seemed to have done neither which confirms the incompetency.

2. Rhea's lawyer tells SC that Rhea madam wants Mumbai Police to investigate first, then CBI can pitch in.

3. Hearing's reserved for another day as written reports need to be submitted by tomorrow by both parties.

4. ED collected Rhea's laptop and electronics.

My thoughts on point 2 - Hasn't MP already done their investigation so far ? Rhea's wish is already fulfilled in last 55+ days. Can we move to CBI now ? Aur kitna investigation karega MP.

So there wasn't any FIR registered in Mumbai and people were called for questioning under some section that suited the Meme Police. What a joke they have become!!! Whatever happened to following a proper course of investigation? Why this kind of mishandling of this case?

Off topic. Sushant's BIL (Priyanka's husband) had tweeted this. This was in November 2019. For the ones who demanded proof of her visit to Mumbai.

I must say Rhea's lawyer is also living in a bubble. It was not Biharis or Bihar Election that kept this case alive for 1.5 months of complete circus/inaction. I am not a Bihari and I have been vocal about it in my SM timelines as well, so as my Bong friends. I have nothing to do with Bihar Election at all.

It's audience/general public whose outrage kept the case alive, and this will not change post Bihar Election. If audience is very vocal and emotional about one thing, media is BOUND to start covering it sooner or later. So this dream of buying time till Bihar Election actually shows how far from reality Rhea is in.

What I think is Rhea is not the accused here. This is not the hearings of SSR's father. This legal battle is who gets jurisdiction to investigate the case, and Rhea is one of the petitioners who wants it to be handled by MP and there's opposition. That's why they ask her.

Exactly.

The " media trial" she's worried about, actually put the case in forefront, politics came later.

And the fight for justice and one's own karma doesnt need any political backing.

A little clarity..

The pressing issue here isn't the CBI per say, but on whose recommendation the CBI is involved. Since Bihar has transfered this case over to the CBI, if CBI takes over, the case will be tried in Bihar as well. This is absolutely unacceptable to the Maneshinde team which is why their affidavit states " Even if the CBI takes over, the juridistication should be with Mumbai."

The CBI can take over the investigation in two ways without Bihar. One, the case goes back to Mumbai and they transfer it to the CBI right away. A deal is usually reached in this case. The case is tried in the Mumbai High Court in this case. Everyone should be happy with this. Maneshinde team implied that today with, "The case should go to Mumbai first.." stating without stating, they're OK with a deal like this.

Second, the Supreme court rejects the CBI tranfer from Bihar but then orders in the CBI themselves. In this case, the case will be tried in the Supreme Court. Ideally, Everybody should be happy with this too.

Maneshinde's main contention is not the CBI but under no circumstances should the case be tried in Bihar where they believe the defendant will never get a fair trial citing Political influence of the family & the upcoming elections.
