Since there is a topic on categories on nepo kids, thought there should be one on outsiders

There are outsiders who are talented but don’t get their due. This includes The likes avinash Tiwary, amit sadh, Vikrant Massey, etc

you also have outsiders like siddhant who after gully boy and debuting under zoya is bagging several films. Kriti sanon is another outsider, disha patani who are getting work and increasing in popularity.

At the end of the day, as much as we compare outsiders vs insiders. Outsiders tend to do well when there is Both a demand for them and interest in them or if they are given media publicity when debuting with well known names and big banners. It is very rare to see someone ayushmann making it big, as he is not given the same initial limelight as others, right? Isn’t this true?

But what do you think is the difference between talented insiders who are popular and outsiders who become popular/talented Almost immediately (siddhant, Kriti, etc). Do you think this conversation is relevant to this group?

Or is the discussion of nepotism really between between the talented outsiders who don’t get the opportunity to be showcased in films by big directors, big budget films over star kids? (The avinash’s, Vikrant masseys etc)

Problem is not the nepotism, but having a gang, favoritisms. If someone is successful don’t pull them down so you can reach higher than them. Bullying is the problem. Undeserving actors getting big roles and awards while talented actors are ignored and sidelined. There should be a healthy competition.

Some of the people you mentioned call some of these big budget films “mindless thrash”

🤔

just cause some said that, doesnt mean all outsiders feel the same way........... those who dont want to act in "mindless thrash' wont do it............... but those who do, deserves a chance at least after they have proven themselves..

I think it’s all abt connections like how ppl use someone’s reference to get a job in real life . SRK was an outsider but he became the fav of most famous directors of that time and he was not related to anyone . Now in BW or any other entertainment industry it’s more harsh for actresses who might have sleep to progress

Imo honestly I can see two major categories.

1. Outsiders who aren't fit for films but look more appropriate for OTT and TV

Here we can have Taapsee, Vikrant, Amit Sadh as you mentioned. They are fab actors but films are about a larger than life personality that should charm everyone. I dont see these guys being able to do that. Only good acting cannot make sure you can carry a 2.5 hour film on your shoulders. But they would do well on other platforms because performance wise they are great.

Sometimes I feel the insider biggies get hold of such outsiders to prove their point that star kids are better than outsiders.

2. Outsiders who check box all factors to be in Bollywood

Here you can have Kriti, Disha, Deepika, Siddhant, Sushant (yes I will put him here), Kangana, Ayushman, Tara (after a few more films). They have that extra zing to make it. Because even if you love em or hate em, you cannot ignore them. They can manage to capture the attention of majority of the audience which is very important when a producer is investing crores of rupees on them.
