please before giving your feedback do a little research on the character. Check out shakuntala Devi and then compare if Vidya is over the top. I Love VB here. Finally a different movie. I was so sick and tired of boy meets girl and mafia movies.

Good producers needs to make movies on Indian geniuses.

Looks fun, plus in Amazon, so will watch first day.

Vidya as always is seamless, and Sanya is a great talent.

The young Shakuntala here reminded me of Silk in The Dirty Picture. I liked the trailer even though I don't like Vidya much and can't tolerate that Sanya.

Sulu and Silk in one film. I am gonna skip this one. at the end, it's all fiction and only inspired by Devi's life.

Would agree. Vidya really disappointed me with her performance. It felt like I was watching Vidya over-acting and hamming rather than Shakuntala devi. Even Sanya looked weird with her hairdo and out of place in the movie. Not a great fan of how the trailer looks, but hoping the movie has some good elements in it (but most likely not)

I watched a few Shakuntala videos on Youtube. She came across as very human, humble with an infectious sense of humor in her interactions, even as she was a genius in math calculations. It was never about 'I am so great' vibe and in real life, she actually lived a very middle class life, wearing very simple saris. In one of her interviews, she discusses the pain of losing her sister in childhood, due to low finances for a medical treatment. It's okay if they take a few cinematic liberaties but the core of trailer was very hard to watch. We need to celebrate our heros. Anyhow Vidya was awful in her portrayal. I liked her dressing up and styling but her acting was completely "off key", really terrible to watch. As A Vidya fan, I am seriously disappointed.

You nailed it. I was wondering what was so off-key about her performance. A lot of the scenes were like deja vu, but jarring when you consider the character she is playing in this movie.
