- Roadies: Him being a winner of Roadies means nothing. Yes, he had received fame for a little while, but it in no ways assisted him in his acting career. Agar kiya hota, toh na jaane kitne Roadies Bollywood mein bhaare hote.
- Successful Host: Again, he worked hard at these jobs and received his fame on his own merit. When he first started as an RJ, he wasn't an immediate success. He was even questioned by his supervisor as to why he wants to become a RJ, because he was that bad. He continued to work hard at his craft to become better.
- TV Shows: Yes, he starred in TV shows, but his roles were absolutely meaningless. I used to watch Kayamath as a kid, and even I didn't remember he was in that show. That's how little of a screen presence he had. Moreover, when he had gone back home to Chandigarh, he had gotten calls from Balaji executives wherein they threatened him that they will make sure he never gets to act again and whatnot. So again, not an immediate success, and definitely didn't get everything handed to him.
- Rejection: He did face rejection, that too over something as stupid as having "bushy eyebrows". What kind of fcking criteria is that wherein you're rejected over a facial feature, rather than your merit? This is the kind of ridiculous standards that outsiders have to go through where they're rejected by just one look, rather than being given a chance to show what sort of talent they possess. Another example, is the more famous one that had been circulating recently: being rejected by KJO. Rather than being told that they're interested in only working with star kids, they led him on and gave him hope that he may have a chance when really they had no intention of working with outsiders like him. Itna time waste kyun? Just be transparent about what you want, so energies can be spent somewhere better.
- Never Jobless: I don't understand what you expected him to do. To starve to death? Is that the only standard that people are using in order to support outsiders? That they should have been, or at least close to being homeless, starving, financially bankrupt etc.? I really don't understand this bizarre mentality. The man branched out, learned different skills, and gained a lot of communication skills. Moreover, he found unique ways of getting into the industry, rather than the standard modelling, or auditions. Furthermore, he himself has said, that being financially secure is important for him (as it should be for everyone). That's why when Hawaizaada tanked, he immediately went out to create a band for himself and started to cultivate a musical career. In case things didn't work out for him in acting, he can at least sustain himself in the musical field.
- Audience: If you don't like his acting that's fine. It's a subjective matter anyways. I don't see why you had to go out of your way, and ridicule people who like him though. There's a myriad of reasons as to why people may go to watch his films. It could be his acting, the versatility in his scripts, them being films that you can watch with the entire family, the songs, the director, etc. We all have different reasons for enjoying the things we do, and they don't always need to be justified.
- Power: I don't know what makes you think that he holds any sort of power in Bollywood. He's merely an actor who doesn't hold that kind of clout. Even for his more critically acclaimed films like Article 15, and Andhadhun, he had to approach the directors and lobby for the films, because he was never their first choice. If he had any sort of power, then these films would have been offered to him. He also doesn't have the power to stop anyone from being a part of films. He's merely an actor, not a producer, or director wherein he can dictate who he wants to work with. As it is, hasn't he worked with a lot of newcomers whether it was in the capacity of directors, or co-stars? If he had been arrogant in any way, then he could have easily demanded to work with stars so that he could propel himself to the "elite" field of Bollywood. But he doesn't care about all that, and why should he when he himself wasn't treated with respect from them? Ayushmann has carved himself a special place in the industry on his own merit, and is largely keeping to himself. If he's doing well, and is being loved by the audience, then why should he stop? If people aren't getting jobs, then it's not his fault. It's the system's fault for being unfair, and setting up ridiculous obstacles that people have a hard time overcoming.
In case it wasn't already apparent with this response, yes I am going to support Ayushmann, and all the endeavors he takes on. However, my support and love for him isn't blind. If he fails to do something, I will hold him accountable. If he does something wrong, I won't make excuses for him. I won't like everything that he does, and that is fine. What's important to me is that he's good at heart, and that he continuously tries to do and be better. I appreciate him immensely for his honesty, positive outlook on life, and willingness to constantly break barriers. To me, he's a gem, and I wish him nothing but the best in life. 💜
You just nailed it . I don't have anything left to say. ♥
Even Roadies first season winner Rannvijay who is now a judge there himself couldn't make it big. Just giving an example.
Everyone views and perceives their struggles differently... Ayushman and Kartik or any outsider for that matter not speaking about nepotism does not necessarily mean they are trying to fit in or please people..
