According to the contract, Sushant Singh Rajput had a three-movie deal with Yash Raj Films. He was expected to get ₹30 lakhs for the first film and ₹60 lakh for the second film if the first movie proved to be a hit. If the first film did not do well, then he would be paid ₹30 lakh for the second. If both films emerged as hits, he would get ₹1 Crore for the third film. If the first film was hit and the second film flopped, he would be paid ₹30 lakh for the third. If the first movie flopped and second did well, he would get ₹60 lakh for the third. The reports further added that the Yashraj contract mentioned it would be YRF who will decide if a film is either a hit or a flop.

According to reports, Sushant Singh Rajput got ₹30 lakh for his first film with YRF which was Shuddh Desi Romance. YRF then gave ₹1 Crore to Sushant Singh Rajput for the second film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy However, according to contract, Sushant Singh Rajput was supposed to be paid ₹60 lakh instead of ₹1 Crore for the movie. The reports added that when Mumbai Police questioned YRF about the same, they could not provide an answer to it.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s third film with YRF was expected to be Paani. The movie was supposed to be helmed by Shekhar Kapur. The third film could not be made due to the creative difference between Aditya Chopra of YRF and Shekhar Kapur, reports added. Recently, Shekhar Kapur had also revealed that Sushant Singh Rajput was not happy with Paani being shelved.

The 3 film deal is basically a disgusting tactic by yrf to rob the actors . I hate YRF and feel terrible for SSR.

I guess they felt guilty for snatching his biggest chance to make it big, because they thought that the poor "outsider" Ranveer deserved it more.

Adi Chopra was for Ranveer (at least at the beginning of his career) that person, who Karan is for Alia now

It does look more that Sushant got the better offers from Yrf. Shuddhi Desi , a Movie with Dibakar and then Paani with Shekar.

The movies they offered to Ranveer were bigger. That they turned up crap is another story. The only big movie that they offered him was Pani, which of course they never planned to make.

Sushant himself said that he wasnt offered Befikre and that he wouldve refused it had he been offered.........so either he really wasnt offered that movie or he refused it......

^^He said that after the film was released and flopped. What did you expect him say? That he loved it and would liked to be in it?

The worst part is Sushant’s dream was to star in a YRF movie. If only he knew better

i wonder how they let ranveer do Ram Leela when Sushant was under contract with UTV at that Time or let’s say that he rather chose to do a Kai Po Che than a movie directed by bhansali of those rumours are true.

If they didn’t want to produce Paani anymore that has something to do with Adi chopra and the director. A good project will always find other producers but seems it was bad so no one picked up. Wonder how he signed Dhoni if everyone was against him.

No one is forced to sign a contract he was already signed by UTV there is/was no need to sign YRF.

But what a privilege for an outsider like Sushant got contracts by UTV and YRF while other outsiders are auditioning for movies and don’t get contracts offered so easily. But we ignore that part too.

I also wonder the same thing too and as far as I know Sushant had a 3 film contract with yrf and not with UTV. And if he could choose why should a newbie choose a UTV film over a solo lead Bhansali film?

and he got the privilege to be signd for two big productions houses through his hard work and talent, and not because of his fathers money or his friendship with the talent manager of yrf.

I guess you're a Ranveer fan and that's why you see things a little differently. I don't blame Ranveer for taking opportunities that he saw because he was a newcomer himself. The blame should be entirely on people like Adi Chopra etc. who favour one over another.
