Why nepotism will persist

Things won’t change. People will forget about everything within the matter of months. At most these star kids will get bad publicity for a couple weeks, lose some followers than get them back as they continue their privileged careers.

The audience can’t get past big film releases with star kids. They will continue to be casted and prioritized and the audience will watch.

It’s unfortunate that the a lot of the audience made a convo about “nepotism” and “mental health“ a chance to feed their own agendas on brining certain actors down.

I was hoping some change would be brought on but it looks like we are once again going in circles.

thoughts ?

Going by today it seems it was relationship issues. Ya can’t blame Karan or Alia or Salman if SSR and his GF had some type of issue. I mean you could but it would be heights of ridiculous 😆

Many people are using Shushant's death as their ladder to two minutes to fame. Some are taking oath and even started petition to boycott KJO and star kids. I know these people very well. These people would be first in line to get movie tickets if any star kids movie gets released.

So I agree with you.

I think nepotism can exist but the problem is they eliminate their competitions....which they shouldnt do...every mom dad wants to give their child a good life and career but for that they should not snatch others...if they give fair equal chance to outsiders as well then it will be fine

Issue isn't with "Nepotism" per se!

Nepotism is universal no matter how unfair it may be!

Nepotism has also given us some of the good talents!

Problem arises when "untalented and average" folks are pushed ahead of the queue!

Problem arises when the same average talent is placed on a pedestal by all means possible - unfair snatching of projects, undermining others talent via PR and media, smear campaign, reducing outsiders to certain level of exposure and not giving them the same treatment as those of insiders etc etc!

So question shouldn't be "Why Nepotism persists" rather our focus should be "How nepotism can be balanced with fair practice?!"!

Give everyone the same platform - aka "Audition" - Whoever tops the it can move ahead in line regardless of insiders or outsiders - this will give industry a chance to flourish with talents coming from various background!

I know it's quite idealistic a scenario - And it won't happen completely!

But even if there is manageable balance between Idealism and realism, our society can sustain!

I dont think this discussion is going anywhere.. everybody is using it to further their own agenda.. Things can change only when both the film fraternity and audience take the responsibility.

Bollywood should create an environment which gives more opportunity for outsiders and have proper audition process in place for everyone. Also the audience needs to support good movies which are shouldered by outsiders, be it director or actors.

But I dont see anybody taking responsibility.

Bollywood is defending themselves e.g. Sonam, Sonakshi... Varun & Alia have also given stupid stmnts regarding nepotism in past.. so doesnt look like they want to change or educate themselves in this matter

On the other hand audience is pinning all the blame on KJo and gang but also neglects any good/content driven product which comes out of Bollywood..

So I dont think, even this discussion will cause any change.

Dear please get out of idealism and morality. People always trust their near and dear first than some random strangers.

After all this drama with KJO and Alia, I have a bad feeling that the outsiders would be compltely excluded out by big logos. Even if they are roped in for an audition, they would be asked to sign a non disclosure agreement for not giving any statement to social media. Their path to stardom will be tough

Firstly read the last two lines of my post if my take isn't clear!

Lastly, my sense of idealism, realism and morality are very clear to me. If you don't agree with them, feel free to disagree and carry on, but you are no one to tell me what I should expect out of others and how I should envision the world!

There is no way to say they can't cheat with the audition process. I mean didn't Kjo said even Alia was chosen through audition? 😆 Besides large scale auditions require more funding I guess its the reason why most are not interested in it.

This is a private industry controlled by these guys. If they don't get to launch their own kids first and take care of them they won't let anyone else's kid find a place here either. Audience will simply have to learn to reject these people when their movie releases thats the only method to force them into being more fair and balanced. After all everything is about money here.

I used to like YRF's deal of 3 movie contract. I thought that was a good way to give opportunities to outsiders. YRF would invest in them to launch and market them later they can pay a share of their earning to the company. But then Sushant didn't benefit from it. But I still feel its a good deal for outsiders. If only more PH would offer such deals it could have opened more opportunities to outsiders.

The Reason why nepotism will persist is because the state of our Indian Media. They literally beg stars to take a pictures, media makes a huge story on how cute Taimur ali khan, may are sold out to push cover stories for PR. Within 2 months of a time everything goes back to as it is, Bollywood mafia will control as it always.
