TO THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK, RANVEER PARINEETI VICKY ARE NOT OUTSIDERS

All three actors are always commended as outsiders. However, there is a slight difference, these people grew up around producers/directors/sisters/dads/uncles who were actors/stunt men, etc. You can get a connection or recommendation through your connects. These people are not outsiders.

They may not be rank outsiders by your definition, but none of them are treated as priveleged star kids like alia ananya, varun, etc who get royal treatment right from the start

The point is not about being a star kid or how close you are to being a star kid just because they may have a connection. it’s about who gets priveleged with opportunities Just because of connection and who benefits from the system of nepotism.

Vicky struggled for years before getting recognition

Ranveer was called ugly by kjo and was even told to not be taken in his first film

Parineeti auditioned for lvrb and she was amazing in that as well as ishaqzaade. She earned her entry into bw just like the others

so if they are not “outsiders“, that does not mean they are priveleged to any extent. The problem With this nepotism debate is the using power to steal films, kick outsiders out of films so the priveleged get films, paying for awards so certain star kid actors get limelight Over those more deserving

Even outsiders can’t get movies without connects. They try to build connections to get in, its very rare that you will find a lead actor of a Bollywood movies purely based on the auditions he gave.

It’s an industry that thrives on social networking.

They don’t look for fresh faces to make a star.

Even Kangna was dating Aditya Pancholi for a reason, she may be talented but she isn’t a saint.

Even Tara Sutaria isn't technically an outsider... She went to school with other nepo kids

How is this outsider vs. insider? Nepotism will always be around in some form because family always helps each other. They SHOULD. A farmer should not have to hand his land to the best of his employees. An IT employee will use his connections to get ahead; he would be dumb if he didn't.

Same for Ranveer, Parineeti, and Vicky. None of what they did was wrong.

The problem is with the bullying, mockery, and the collusion to keep talented outsiders out.

Actor talented hai lekin flop hai, kaun kya kar sakta hai? The insiders don't bother when the outsiders give small successes. They try to finish an outsider when the outsider starts giving big hits. In Sushant's case, Dhoni and later Chichore.

Had Rajkumer Rao given a few massy hits they would have targetted him as well.

I've tried to simplify it with an infographic. Of course this is not as simple and intersectionality exists (for example, one may be an insider but not have good connections. An outsider with money or connections with politicians obviously weilds more power than a helpless insider/starkid. Eg. Shradda Kapoor, despite being a so-called starkid/insider, still struggled to get a break, whereas "outsider" Ranveer or "outsider" Anushka landed mega projects for their debuts).
