Agree.

In today's world one cannot get a decent job without connections. Forgetting good roles in movies.

Anyway, for me personally I dont care if someone is a starkid, industry kid, insider, outsider, as long as they are talented then they deserve to be in the industry

I agree with you. If the movie is worth watching I am there. I do not care for star kid or an outsider.

Personally I do not like to watch Sonam or John onscreen. I feel these two would have become better models than actors.

Swara Bhaskar should get lost from everywhere on the earth.

This is a problem with many rich kids from international schools. They act like foreigners.

Anil kapoor and co never acknowleged him when he was launched and they still say they are not exactly related.

I remember Kareena being disgusted with Ranveer. She walked out of Ramleela as Ranveer was the male lead. Kareena regretted her decision after the movie was hit and won many awards. She said something about charity platter. I remember reading this on IF.

They get blinds printed.

Everybody prints blinds though. And their PR is blamed. But saint Ranbir also says he has no PR. 😆

Ranbir has stalks his exes on social media lol.

Ranbir gossips a lot. He observes and collect information well .If he was not an actor, he would have been a big journalist exposing everyone.

This is true. I think people are forgetting that Ranveer was extremely hated in the beginning. There was a time the elite group didn’t even acknowledge his existence. I’m actually pretty sure that they still don’t like him and are only tolerating him because of his success.

Ranveer became a bigger star when he started doing well outside of SLB movies. Like Gully Boy and Simmba. Yes he was signed to YRF but so was Sushant.

Let’s say this. For me those who get a big movie launch for their first movie and everybody in the industry already hype them without seeing anything or hyping just after the first movie. Getting the support from left right center that is unfair against the rest. The public getting fooled by them and the media plays a big part.

Of course some star kids have it even much easier than the other one. I mean Ranbir and Sonam wanted to work with SLB so they were his assistant directors of his set First and suddenly they were directed by such a big director for their first movie.

The Movie was a flop still their performances were hailed especially ranbir him being THE kapoor grandson.

Varun was also assistant at Kjos set and was directed for his first movie by Karan Johar just like Alia. That is a big privilege being directed by such big directors. Their way of entering on the big screen is different than others.

Yeah and? What practical suggestion do you propose to change that? Star kids get big movies for their first role because there is curiosity in the audience already. It's easier to sell them and easier to do PR for them too. When a lot of money is at stake, producers will do whatever it takes to reduce their risk.

Why should they hand these roles to unknown newcomers and why would they? They have nothing to gain from it. It's a business. If those outsiders end up proving themselves elsewhere, those same producers will work with them later.

Yeah but what kind of business is that. The project is always risky when no one ever saw how the said person acts be it star kid or not. The producer role is different than being the director itself.

How many of these big directors choose a newcomer for their film. A Big director doesn’t need extra marketing for launching a star kid.
A Producer would take a star kid for marketing.

The other one would not care cause he wants to do a movie and they take the actors through auditions.

they get tapes from here and there or others gave tapes to look at certain fresh faces. Just how it works in Hollywood mostly.

I’m a little confused iffy about Vicky, Shahid, Ranveer Deepu and Katrina ....I’m sure they have connections but everyone in this industry has connections. I think I’m moreso focusing entitled star kids. But I would love to hear your thoughts I don’t want to come across as biased

Star kids concept is of putramoh (or putrimoh).

It'll help you get your first (one or two) movie. I wouldn't call it nepotism: it's just like parents paying your school fees.

What starts after that is the game of nepotism.

It involves camps and Godfathers.

So e.g. a Karan Deol will dissolve away while we'll keep getting Tushar Kapoor.

What is a referral?, used to get jobs: it helps you know a person has decent character, is not a criminal and possibly has relevant experience. That is fair.

But what is happening in Bollywood is beyond mere referrals.

The system has created a few power circles and you have to be in one of them. And they'll push substandard lead actors over more deserving ones who they already know (casting directors will very well tell them who's an actual good fit). The lead actor maybe very good, but not better than other available choices.

Who loses out? Earlier I thought it's just you and me. (We lose the opportunity to see a better movie with better skills. But we pay the EXACT same ticket price. The money to make these movies is coming from our pockets. And yet we are manipulated to love manufactured stars.) But now I'm realizing more impacted are the stars, like Sushant, from whom almost signed projects are snatched and given to insiders.

Now I've come to know that these nepotism guys play dirty games. They target outsiders who just want to do their jobs and not lick their b&&&s. They plant blinds to hurt them, professionally and mentally.

Nepotism should be insiders vs outsiders. Not star kids. That is where you're going wrong in your list of beneficiaries.

I'm not saying Ranveer & Deepika are enablers. But they are beneficiaries.
