Mrunal would have looked amazing in that uniform and I'm sure she would have nailed the act😍

When people start coming to theatres to watch Mrunal Thakur in Love Soniya and make it a hit, even she will get cast in a Raazi or a Gunjan. And Mrunal's last project was directed by Karan himself. Alia gave a legit hit in Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Janhvi gave a legit hit in Dhadak. The day the audience give the same attention to Mrunal Thakur and seats in her film gets filled, even she will get the same films. We discuss nepotism here, how many times have we ourselves discussed Mrunal Thakur in the forum? Mrunal acted in two more films starring big actors- both were hits. Did it do anything for her?

last project konsa that Netflix wala 4 in one movie😆 kahaan badrinath ki dulhania aur kahaan chhota sa “project”. Super 30 was more about Hrithik not mrunal.. I am saying that cast her in badri or raazi then see who is discussed more. If audience rejects her then it’s fair.

Even if it's 4 in 1 movie, it's a Netflix-RSVP film directed by Karan. Not a chota mota film. That's how Kiara herself got popular after her stint in a 4 in one movie called Lust Stories. Why will a producer invest on someone who can't pull audience to the theatre or doesn't have mass appeal when they can do the same by casting a well known actor or a starkid who already has big buzz due to their famous parents? That automatically lends the movie buzz even before it goes on floors. That's sadly how the industry works. You can't just start at the top of the ladder. It's about priority- is the person here to become an actor or be a part of a Dharma film only or koffee with karan? You have to start working from the ground.

I agree with you completely and my thoughts are similar but don’t you think if millions are targeting them there must be something which is not right. If I have the potential to be a star, can I directly go to dharma and showcase my talent? Are they approachable? I know you have to start on your own and from the ground and the aim shouldn’t be to be cast in dharma or be in KWK and if you have that star aura you will reach there no matter what, but why I have to have the X factor and be all-rounder and perfect in comparison to a mediocre star kid who has a team behind him or her that handles everything. Why I have to be someone like ayushman or rajkumar rao to reach there, I want to be a mediocre too

I know that they don’t wanna take risk with their money taking someone who is not famous like starkids but if they can afford multiple projects for a flop starkid why not an outsider who has already made his/her name and is equally popular. They only get projects like four in one wala movie 😆 or ensemble cast wala movie Good newwz which was a small project in the start. I want raazi and Gunjan Saxena.

Don’t get me wrong I just feel that there is an imbalance in the industry, if there is none and everything is fair then they won’t get this hate. True success never gets this kinda outrage.

their priorities should be telling a story, cast whoever fits the role and giving 100% to cleverly market it to be a success rather than choosing an easy route and cash on already famous mediocre starkids if they wanna escape from criticism. If not then hatred to rahe ga. You can convince me, I do not complain, I can reach wherever I want but not many here who just love to hate them.

@ black- Honestly if one has the potential to be a star, not just Dharma, he/she won't be able to directly go to any production house without years of struggle even if there's no nepotism because the competition is that strong in the real world in Mumbai. The reason why one must have the X factor is because unfortunately that's what sells in Bollywood. The audience loves an all rounder star- who can do everything. They don't care much about acting otherwise Salman's films or Tiger's films wouldn't have earned what it does. An okayish actor with good dancing and action skills wil be lapped up much more than someone with amazing acting skills but zero talent in the other fields. Because for the majority of the audience, films are still about escapism. They are not critics, they don't disect scenes and acting post watching a film. They just need 2 hr of entertainment that they get from all rounder stars. That's why even if you look at the biggest hits of outsiders- be it Rajkumar Rao or Ayushman or Kriti, they are all massy films like Bareily Ki Barfi or Dream Girl or Lukka Chuppi. That's the reason why even star kids are moulded that way before launch. Because their parents have been doing the same thing too onscreen.

@red- Coming to investing in films, it is completely different from giving chance to outsiders because there are many secret producers in films who invest but don't have their name. Look at the starting of films these days, you can see logo of some aera gaira production house or person one has never heard before. So that's a completely different thing altogether as to why they invest in starkids. Sometimes it is the person close to the starkid investing so they obviously take the star kid instead of an outsider. That plus lobbying. And lobbying exists EVERYWHERE. Not just Bollywood. Even in our day to day business we can see lobbying happening in our own offices. Certain people are preferred over deserving candidates and random power play. It's so common to get in contact with someone known jiske chacha ke mama ke fufa ke devar ka friend is HOD of some college to get admission. So all of these things are not exclusive to just the Bollywood industry, it exists everywhere. So selective outrage doesn't make sense to me.

@green- For sure there is imbalance in the industry, many undeserving people get chances over the deserving ones but that's life everywhere and one has to struggle through it. We don't go to watch a Taapsee or Vicky or Rajkumar film in theatres while we go and watch a Badrinath or a Sanju headlined by starkids and make them superhits. So at the end of the day the results show why some insiders get work over outsiders. Like Taapsee/Kangana complain about nepotism but when the audience themselves don't go to watch a Saand Ki Aankh or a Panga/JHK then what can anyone do in such cases? Upar se they don't want to work in mindless film. A RKR or Ayushmaan would never do a Baaghi too since they want quality cinema so what does one do in such cases?

If there's anyone who should be blamed for this then it's the audience and no one else. We indulge in star kids right from the time they are born (Abram/Taimur) till the time they debut then tell me who is wrong here? I mean we haven't had as many posts praising Sushant and his performance throughout his entire career in this forum as much as we have had in the last few days. That in itself speaks volumes about our priorities as audience right?
