What have they done exactly? Their parents parade them around, paying paps to capture airport looks, this look, that look, Taimurs new haircut, blah blah blah. There is a fan page for Jahnvi' s pink water bottle for God's sake.

Mrunal Thakur has said in an interview how they have to earn each and every follower whereas insiders start with an audience which is a huge advantage. That is because of the platform their parents have given them to be visible. Shanaya going to Le Bal, Suhana getting a Vogue cover, etc. That's the privilege they've been born with.

Completely agree with you.

Does this happen in Hollywood also? 🤔

Do celeb kids get papped daily over there like how it's in India? 🤔

Can anyone tell me what is the achievement of Ibrahim Ali Khan that he has not just over 500k followers but also his account is verified? What is the achievement of Panday cousins? What is the achievement of Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan etc to have that many followers?

People give them what they want and then talk about nepotism.

Not just lots of followers they bloody even have fan clubs already!!! Can you beat that? Accounts wholly dedicated to these people and being referred to as my baby my life etc etc 🤓🤪

Do you really think social media hype equals to footfalls in theatres? Social media is just a time-pass and people who follow these accounts do so due to visibility. They see the media covering these star kids when they enter parties etc. and the curiosity starts there.

Even before social media started, nepotism existed in Bollywood. Social media doesn't form nepotism, it reflects it.

The problem is deep-rooted but I really don't think following these star kids is going to influence directors to take them. There are several influencers with huge number of followers. Social media is just a tool and most of all, it's free.

The problem lies with the production houses like YRF and Dharma, who invest all their resources in star kids, creating hype around them, hiring media outlets to cover them, and tie-ups with distributors and exhibitors to splash their nepo products across multiple platforms. There is something called elaborate marketing, where you can be forced to like something vis-a-vis having it continuously fed into your brain. Supplier-induced demand. This is the main problem. The demand here is seduced by a huge nexus between media, production houses, and even the consumer industry.

Yes we are too blame bec we don't question this ridiculousness but don't for a moment assume that it's not carefully crafted

Take shanaya Kapoor for example. Who even knew of her existence. No one was a fan of sanjay kapoor. Why would people be interested in his children. But they pay paps to continuously post about her. Magazines to cover her. others in industry will post how pretty you are. We have news articles abt her.

They are forced on us. Our fault is we pay attention.

you're blaming the audience? there are people who love to keep the status quo on the top. Media folks are filled with people who are the status quo. it's a circle jerk.

For me cinema is art and entertainment. I guess everything will be solved if Indian entertainment industry have auditions. U go through interview to get a job, u go through auditions to get a part in a movie.

Unfortunately, Indian industry rely on contacts and connections and no audition. We rarely have casting director.

So, I really salute Aamir for having auditions and casting director. U know that man made kareena to give an audition for the upcoming movie. Dangal gives me confidence that his movies' audition really counts.

But asking Indian demigods aka superstars to give an audition is a blasphemy, I guess.

I salute Aamir Khan too. He could have easily used his own nephew in small roles in his movies like Dangal, PK etc but he didn’t. Instead he chose people like Aparshakti and Sushant
