Why doesn't he get appreciated enough for backing new talent?

This tweet just reminded me how many times he has backed new talent on and off camera in his films. Be it when he used to own UTV or even now with his new production house, he has consistently launched new talent and backed good films. Still remember how he used to make these small successful films with outsiders under UTV spotboy- Welcome to Sajjanpur, Aamir, Mumbai Meri Jaan, A Wednesday, etc and even now under his new production house, he keeps launching newbies and new directors. He also bought Kedarnath from it's earlier producers when it was stuck with no future and ensured it releases which it did with it becoming a hit. Yet he doesn't get even a part of the traction that other producers get for launching just starkids, wonder why!

I’ve always liked Ronnie! Seems like one of the few good people in Bollywood. So glad that from Fashion to The Sky Is Pink, Priyanka and him have worked together on numerous films!

He doesn't have the PR skills to sell himself like Karan and his namunas. Karan stays in the limelight talking about his clan 24/7. If this incident has taught me anything, it's how much visibility matters when it comes to perception and how corrupted ours are. Karan has hijacked and monopolized the most successful producer narrative, the most socially savvy, how he's your go-to person for everything related to the industry. This image has been built over many years and while so many are out there are doing actual work and building the industry from the ground, we don't hear anything about them.

More people should talk about themselves and what they bring to the table like Karan.

It's just ironical how everytime I have seen producers' round table or discussions, people who portray themselves as be all and end all of the industry end up sounding the most dimwitted and condescending.

It was in one of these discussions that Karan mocked outsiders for demanding a hefty paycheck for their work and how they grow too big for their shoes.

Karan is sitting on an air castle though. He may be influential in getting his own kids into other people's films, but he doesn't have much to show for his own production house. Brahmastra or Takht alone could sink his whole thing.
