I don't think anyone should need a male stamp of approval to be considered beautiful. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Thus something can aesthetically appeal to any eye and be considered beautiful. Going back to beauty being subjective. Definitely even in Aish is time there were a particular group of men that found a curvy figure more appealing than profound facial beauty. In those times, Sush or Bipasha were more of the alternatives to Aish in that regard. But there was def a group that gave more of a preference to profound facial beauty. Aish def lead to some extent in that regard. It kind of like Katrina and Deepika. Deepika will always have the better face.
There is no one set standard of beauty that appeals to every man. Nor should it ideally be every woman's top goal to seek a stamp of approval from every man for their own validation.
Again once again if you feel even Aish's facial beauty was nothing special and she was over-hyped than no one is going to force you to accept otherwise. But I don't think it should matter to Aish or even her fans that every man in the planet wasn't going gaga over her. (Although just from childhood memories as bollywood buff I do remember a particular group that was. I listed what I could remember off the top of my head for discussion purposes. Even during her introduction the west they would talk about all websites dedicated to her by men before they interviewed her. I loved Aish. I don't even know why but I followed her closely.) Maybe because she was the one bollywood actress I could talk about in the west with my friend and they knew who she was.
