Have you even seen Chapaak? The fact that you are comparing it to a patriotic, feel-good film says a lot about how warped your logic is.

And who says Deepika was bad in the film? Everyone who saw the film praised her acting. I repeat, everyone who saw.

And Kriti is a much better looker and actress than Alia. She won the best debut in 2014, unlike Alia who could not even manage a best debut award, but still picked up the cream-de-la-creme of films thanks to papa Jo!

I saw the film and hated deepika's portrayal also malti was poorly written character, I couldn't connect to her

@BOLD sooraj pancholi and eisha deol also won them what your trying to prove here

I agree it was a poorly written character and the film itself was bogged down by a poorly-written screenplay, that's why it flopped.

I am just trying to say that it's futile to compare Kriti and Alia's journeys. Alia was piss-poor in SOTY, yet she got Highway. Kriti was fantastic in Heropanti, yet she got a female-centric film Mimi after 6 years. That's the time it took her, unlike someone who is served everything on a platter.

Also why is there so much dearth of new female talent.. The ones that we are talking about, they have been around for a while.. Apart from them, no new female actress came to the industry lately(And I am talking about the outsiders, who arrive with some standout performance backing them).

On the other hand, with their male counterpart, we get quite a few actors every now and then who arrive on the scene due to their breakout performances in either web series or indie films.

Vicky got noticed due to Massan, Vineet Singh from Muqqabaaz, Siddhant as supporting character MC Sher, now there is this new guy Ishwak Singh everybody is talking about who have watched Paatal Lok.

So why dont we get such female talents.. wasnt their any noticeable performance by any actress in web series or indie films? Last one I heard was the Soni actress, but again she got a a character role in Thappad.

Have you seen Love Sonia? Mrunal Thakur was fantastic in it. She's a very good actress, but didn't have much scope in Super 30 and Batla House.

I had also made a topic on Geetika.

Better looking yes but not better acting. At least from the ones listed except Bhumi who acts better than Alia.

Most reviews have thrashed her acting, I haven't seen the entire film, but whatever bits and pieces I have seen, she was bad like real bad...and its my opinion. Same with Kriti, she was meh in Bareily ki Barfi, Rajkumar and Ayushman completely overshadowed her..just cos she is outsider doesn't mean she can act Kriti is as mediocre as mediocre can be be...Alia maybe a star kid and gotten films on plater but she took those opportunities and made them work..with her talent and dedication. As if winning best debut for Heropanti is something to be proud of 😆
