If we exchange the filmographies of Ranbir and Ranveer...

Hypothesis: Let's assume Ranbir has Ranveer's filmograpy and vice-versa.

Who do you think would be more successful and why? On the flip side, who would end up falling flat on their face?

PS -- This is purely an assumption-based thread. So come up with answers based on your guesswork and intuition, and nothing else.

I feel Ranveer may be able to do a Rock star and YJHD easily

But i doubt Ranbir can carry Bajirao or even more Khilji kind of act like Ranveer Singh

I feel ranbir can do only brooding kind of man boy roles

But Ranveer hes not that handsome as Ranbir but his eyes sparkle and he can act thru his eyes

You forget that its ranveer singh when you see Khilji and Bajirao etc

But you cannot forget its Ranbir Kapoor on screen while watching the movie

Thats rare for an lead actor in bollywood

Only few can do that from 1950s forget after 2000s

Ranveer is like Dilip Kumar you forget him and just think thats a police officer in Shakti or a Prince Salim in mughal e azam or devdas

and Ranbir is like Amitabh Bachchan you cannot forget that its AB in shakti, Ab in Khuda gawa and Ab in Namak hallal

after the firat 2 films Ranveer would have been ignored by the industry

As someone commented above, even I can't imagine Ranbir playing Khilji or Bajirao (thought I didn't like Ranveer as Khilji at all). Maybe I feel so coz Bir has not experimented much, as far as periodic films are concerned. Unless I have missed those films. Don't keep track of his films at all.

Don't like either of them much (esp. offscreen). Have only seen 3 films of Ranbir's (Bachna Ey Haseeno, YJHD, and WUS) and I think 4 of Ranveer's (BBB, Padmavat, Gully Boy, and Bajirao).

Out of these, I really liked Bajirao and Wake Up Sid. Bachna was BAD, so was Padmavat. There are other films of theirs which I wouldn't watch at gunpoint: Befikre, Rocket Singh, and that other film which Ranbir did with Neetu-Rishi.

Aisa kuch khas nahi hai that no other actor can pull-off the films/roles they both have done.

Ranveer has all the makings of a good actor. But he'd rather be a star. His fans would rather he be a larger-than-life star. His noted performances Khilji and Bajirao are nothing but over the top overacting. Not entirely his fault.The characters are poorly written and Ranveer follows SLB's instructions perfectly to give a grandiose,melodramatic one-note performance. Forget Ranbir. Any actor with a 'star' aura and a massy following can do these two roles. Ranbir could give a better performance with Lootera.To give his due Ranveer can play a wide variety of characters convincingly and has no fear of failure or attempting the unknown.

He's almost always conservative.During his earlier years he experimented a lot- but almost always grounded in reality.Rocket Singh,Rajneeti and Wake up Sid are fine examples. After he burnt his hand with Bombay Velvet he fell into a rut and began to do fewer 'safe' choices -working with well-known directors, sticking with the familiar prototype of the manchild etc. Ranveer can do YJHD or Sanju easily. If he ever attempted Rockstar the character's wildness is perfectly doable. But the underlying melancholy and helpnessness which Ranbir brought to the table would be utterly missing.

Ranveer wouldnt have gotten the kind off chances Ranbir got post BV and Besharam....... whereas Ranbir wouldve never been able to do a Bajirao or Lootera

I think Ranveer is more of a showman kind of person he shows what he truly is not he plays to gallery his fans always

So fans assume he is that show off in real life too (forget the colorful dressing)

But i think Ranveer acts very well in real life too to maintain his larger than life image on screen

Ranveer can act serious watch him in lootera or gully boy serious roles - he can mellow down if role wants it

But audience like ranveer in over top roles larger than life roles - so thats what he gives mostly

Ranbir is good at soul stirring deep performances that could be also because of life experiences its easy for him to potray pain lonliness etc on screen (if you understand what i mean)

Ranveer has not seen hard part of life or any emotional trauma the protected youngest child of family without any troubles in life, so you cannot see that soul stirring deep impact performances

Acting is about potraying emotions buried deep within and those who have seen raw side of life do it better than those who brought up protectively in life

Same for poetry and novel writing - the best poets and writers have faced hardship up and downs in life

The kind of work that ranbir brings to the table ranveer can never do that. He would ruin s rockstar rajneeti wake up sid rocket singh or barfi Even yjhd he will ruin bunny with his overacting. While ranbir can easily pull of any of his character. Ranbir went through a bad phase professionally before sanju agreed but that does not takes away the fact that he is the best the industry has got. That s no way takes away the fact he is the finest actor of this generation. Ranveer has a long way to go before he reaches ranbir s position.

Khilji and Bajirao were shit performances, don't understand the hype. If filmographies were exchanged Ranbir wouldn't have hammed like ranveer and BM, Padmvat would be more easy on eyes to watch.
