i agree, i dont know why rk and ranveer always keep getting compared, they are both different actors and both have done well in the movies they have done, lets just appreciate both of them as actors instead of trying to prove who is better

I love Ranbir but I just feel that, Ranveer's filmography is so much better than Ranbir.

I don't know if it is just bad luck or whatever but for some reason Ranbir has ended up choosing films of reputed directors that turned out be not just their most disastrous films but also the most time consuming with continuous delays. For example, Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos and going by indications - Bhramastra. Imtiaz Ali's bad phase too started with Tamasha (which had a lukewarm response) and Sanju somehow doesn't even seem to have any kind of recall value in audience minds unlike Hirani's previous films.

Sure, Ranveer has his low points like Befikre. But he has had successes too ... Unlike Ranbir - with whom people have been bringing up the same four films in the past eight years to talk about his acting prowess , Ranveer just has done more work, varied work to talk about.

Ranbir would have probably played Khilji his own way... Given it his own interpretation.. He has done a Rockstar , so it isn't as if he can't bring out the intensity (which is not the usual internally-brooding manchild characterization) but I don't know if he can bring out the manic uninhibited energy.... Whether it a historical equivalent of a Padmavat or a "masala-entertainer" like a Simbaa. We don't know because he hasn't really done enough varied work.. except Besharam and we know how that turned out

Edit: okay, just read the topic carefully now, and realize my post has nothing to do with it 😬

I don't get the people saying Ranbir couldn't do Khijli or Bajirao, he definitely has the spunk and energy for the roles. If he can do something as high energy as Barfi and then more intense like Rockstar--then he can do period pieces. However, he hasn't gotten the chance.

That being said, I've always found Ranveer's filmography superior. He's done everything and successfully. I like that he did BM, DDD, Padmavat, Gully Boy and none of those roles are similar at all.

@ Lunza.. I totally agree with the time factor. Ranbir is one of the most gifted actors. Even his contemporaries n ppl down South appreciate his work. However, the guy wasted his prime years working with Directors who take forever to make films. Not sure abt historical characters but he could have pulled off other roles well.

Ranveer has a more varied filmography for sure, but was he good in all of those? I don’t think so. I enjoyed his performance in few films but majority of the times his over enthusiastic persona seeps in reel life n it feels like I’m watching Ranveer not the character, which is why he won’t be able to do justice to the restrained roles Ranbir did.

Having said that, none of them would have flopped cos they both are passionate abt cinema with a decent fan following.

I've seen very few movies of both these actors but swapping their movie careers would kill them both 😆 ranbir would be cringe worthy in band baaja baraat while ranveer would be cringe worthy in barfi 😆
