Pooja was fine, but saying no one can ever do a Draupadi as good as she did is sheer nonsense. Rupa Ganguli in original MB was great too. & what Deepika can do or not, we can only know when she does it. But going by her performance from BM & Padmavati, she can definitely pull it off fine.

Deepika did justice to Mastani and Padmavati? Has to be the best self-trolling I've seen in a while. 🤣

Frankly speaking I didn't like Draupadi's characterization in BRC or Roopa Ganguly's performance either. Her voice & hindi diction was way too poor. Idk about Roopa being known widely as Draupadi but I do feel Pooja has a greater impact than her. Yeah those TV Twitter fans might do that cause the same bunch of fans actually stan & their favorites are terrible actors but popular stars that could be the reason but I ain't one. Pooja might be an underdog who worths all the appreciation.

Aham? you sure? he's my favorite too but I've hardly seen him getting any appreciation on Twitter by that bunch or outside Twitter although he was on par with SRJ & Pooja in SPMB. My mom loved him the most and SRJ but over-all SRJ had the biggest impact outside SM or online.

Aham was eclipsed by her and SRJ. Part of it was the writers' mistake. They were so busy trying to justify Karna they completely lost the essence of the original character. TBH, they did the same horror with Krishna. Nuance seems to have been beyond their capabilities.

Aham was actually a better choice for Arjun IMO. He had that internalizing quality which Arjun had. Plus, he'd have looked better with Pooja. Shaheer was too chocolatey to be believable as a warrior. Plus, he couldn't act to save his life.

I think they do know who Rupa is. I have seen both the versions. Rupa's voice was annoying and Draupadi didn't get much importance in BRC like Draupadi was the major highlight in SPMB. Pooja has taken over Roopa for sure but between SRJ & Nitish it's neck to neck but SRJ has the advantage of his charming smile.

I agree. I didn't like how they made Karna into a crybaby at times and his character didn't even get a solo promo throughout, or during introduction of characters. He was handed second fiddle treatment and hardly got any screentime. He was shown to be lost at background so many times. Even side characters got more prominence than him. That's why Aham's performance gets totally neglected on SM. Although I have seen people remembering Karna more than Aham's performance but in case of SRJ & Pooja they get equal appreciation for their respective performances. Aham wasn't given any stand-out scenes like SRJ & Pooja were given to shine and highlight their acting.

I think Aham was perfect fit as Karna. He has that golden-ish brightness and shine on his face and body & eyes too. I wish they focussed more on his grey shades. Aham would've killed it like he's done in Manmarziyaan. And Aham/Pooja have been my dream pair since MB days. I so wish someone casts them together in an intense lovestory. They never shared screenspace together throughout the series but without ever doing that, their verbap spat brought so much fire and intensity on-screen. I'm sure if they come together as a solo pair they'd be lit and bring the house down.

As for Shaheer, he isn't believable in a single role he's done so far. I never understood the hype around his so-called chemistry with Pooja. Shaheer always seemed like a younger sibling to Pooja on or offscreen. 😆 She had far better chemistry with SRJ but her solo stans dislike Aham cause he played Karna & puts him down both as an actor and looker.

Pooja was brilliant. the sad part is that people prefer to watch abla naari portrayal of Draupadi because she was molested but she was a fierce woman born from the fire itself.

classic dramas exist that doesn't mean recent ones are bad unless they distort everything. new performances are great that doesn't mean no one can pull off that character now.

but dp? God knows why people praise her *non-existent* acting.

Star Mahabharat was a travesty to the original. Compared to it the Chopra version better.I admit I only watched a few episodes of the Star Mbt here and there.I was fine with some liberties being taken.But the amount of glorification done to deify the main characters is unbelievable.The beauty of Mahabharat is that all characters have shades of gray.I kind of lost it when Draupadi was asked to marry the 5 Pandavas and she gets along with it meekly.Really ? A woman being asked something that controversial and she never voices any dissent? No need for Vyasa to come along with his version of Draupadi's previous birth and Shiva's boon and convince her.
