How credible are Alia's filmfare wins?

This post is not to bash/criticize her. Just want opinions.

winning a filmfare for udta punjab, raazi was not totally unexpected or anything. As the audience appreciated her performance.

But does the win for gully boy lead actress (when it was clearly a supporting role and there were better performers than her) take away everything she has worked for to combat her association with nepotism. With someone that priveleged and who has already seen success, you want to see her earn her awards and what not. Isnt that a let down, not only for the audience..but to her as well?

As fas as I remember, I dont rememebr any supporting role getting a lead actress award. Correct me If I am wrong. The levels with her have gone extreme in a bad way.

If she were to win a filmfare award next year, which is likely given her record of winning just for a suporting role, how would this be taken?

Her winning for gully boy is a GROSS & MASSIVE INJUSTICE with Priyanka for tsip...followed by kangana, vidya & rani.

Don't the jury felt ASHAMED doing this ?

Sad thing is that, baywakoof Kangoli's tweets are positioning Alia as some victim and saving her from the very well deserved backlash.

Very well deserved. She now has 4 awards for 4 amazing performances: Highway, Udta Punjab, Raazi, Gully Boy.

I agree her role was short in length in the latter. It was definitely a close call when deciding which category I think she should go in. But award shows have been doing this for YEARS.

Kajol won for My Name Is Khan - and she had minimal footage in the film. Kareena was nominated for 3 Idiots - when she clearly had a supporting role. Priyanka in Kaminey had like 6 scenes but Best Actress nomination.

Vyjayanthimala in the 50s refused her Supporting Actress award because she said she was co-lead.

There have been 3 instances at Filmfare when the SAME PERFORMANCE has been nominated in BOTH categories:

Nutan in 1974 (Saudagar) and 1979 (Main Tulsi...), and Raakhee (Doosara Aadmi) in 1978.

Kareena won Supporting Actress for We Are Family when in fact she was the lead.

Karisma won Supporting Actress for Dil To Pagal Hai but she was nominated for the same film in the Best Actress category at Zee Cine Awards.

Rekha won Supporting Actress for Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi but she was literally the MAIN LEAD of the film.

Madhuri was nominated for Devdas in Supporting category but IIFA put her in the Lead Actress category.

Tabu was the lead in Haider but nominated in Supporting Actress category.

There are countless other times when this happened.

But I think the anti-Alia brigade is especially hurt this time hence the extra drama.

Alia deserved every award she got ❤️

thats surprising. Her being well deserved is a very small minority opinion. Do you think she deserved it over rani, priyanka?

Anti-Alia bridage is not the only ones calling it out, others who like her as an actress are as well.

The 3 wins aren’t the worse 3 wins in filmfare history.

.........as credible as Filmfare Awards itself and its organizing body, jury, and everyone associated with it....which I highly doubt they are
