Akshay Kumar is all set to play himself in Namaste London. But he
confesses to TIMES NOW's Pratiksha Menon that he misses the action
flicks that made him a household name.
PM: "Namaste London" sounds like a mixture of cultures. Is is
something of that sort?
AK: No, it's not about mixture of cultures. This guy, being played by
me, has an attitude and he's proud to be Indian. He meets this girl
from the UK and gets married to her; they have a clash. She's been
brought up in the UK, and this guy is from Punjab, so they have
different ideals.
PM: How much of Akshay is there in this Punjabi boy?
AK: It's 100% me; I am from Punjab and that's me in this film.
PM: Are you getting very comfortable in this genre? Don't you want to
do action films?
AK: Yes, I want to do action films. I want to do a big action film;
I'm planning it for next year.
PM: What does you son think of your movies? Which movie does he
really like?
AK: He likes "Tom and Jerry", but unfortunately, I'm not in it.
PM: What does he say when he sees you on screen?
AK: He changes the channel. He sees enough of me around the house, so
he just changes the channel.
