She was extremely lucky with the films she got in her career, particularly in the 90s.

From Baazigar to Pyar To Hona Hi Tha, she managed to have at least one hit every year and even though she was part of some "flops", her stardom never faded.

Hell, most of my favorite films from the 90s had KAJOL in them.

Post 2000, she became choosy and worked in either in her husband's production OR with Sharukh/Karan'.

I would say she never had a low/flop phase (though she took several sabbaticals).

Katrina had a flop period with Phantom, Fitoor, Baar Baar Dekho, Jagga Jasoos back to back. It did effect her stardom a bit and she went back to Salman after that.
