People look more Beautiful than they are in Black and White era as their flaws get hidden easily there. Look how Nutan used to look in Black and White and see how she used to look in Karma.

So, Aishwarya is definitely more Beautiful. But, i like Madhubala's smile more than Aishwarya's plastic smile

Madubaala .

Aishwarya is beautiful but something feels fake about her.

Strictly in terms of beauty - i dont think anyone can come close toAish's beautiful face .. She has an impossibly perfect face ..

But overall , Madhubala .. There's something about Aish's personality which seems very cold and off putting ..

It should also be remembered that the tricks you could do with make-up back then, in the 1950's, were far less sophisticated than in the 1980's or 1990's. Naturally, canons of beauty have also changed. When Madhuri, my absolute favourite beauty wise, started her career, people ridiculed her for being "stick thin" - now that kind of body is actually the expected norm. Madhubala's face would rank first for me, alongside maybe Sophia Loren, for the 1950's - she had a fuller face (and a fuller figure), but what people perceive as lack of perfection is actually what makes her beauty so striking and appealing. And her smile is out of this world.

Many actresses are more beautiful than Madhubala. The latter is definitely pretty but there's nothing wow/unique about her looks. I even find Urmila and Sridevi prettier than Madhubala.

also note that no one on this forum is form that era. Kuch logon ne apne parents ya grandparents ko sunna hoga Madhubala ke baare mein and that’s why madhubala madhubala kar rahe hai.

EXACTLY

We often give too much importance to what we see in our childhood and think it’s superior to everything else

I always liked Ash but I became a big fan of her around Shabd/Dhoom-2. That wasn’t in the 90’s.
