Term multistarrer seems be thrown around every movie stars akshay kumar. Multistarrer would of been if the lead actor had another actor who is usually lead actor in other films, here akshay is the lead hero and with no other actors sharing same length of role as him, and Vidya balan lead heroine. It’s a solo male and multistarrer for the actress because it has sonakshri and Tapsee.

Solo and Multistarrer films don't have a clear definition. For me personally, I think from story POV the movie has two leads Akshay and Vidya, so it's a multistarrer, not a solo movie. Yes, there are other actresses in the film, but they are playing supporting roles, and supporting characters exist in every film. So by that logic no movie is a solo movie, all are multistarrerers. That's why only the number of leads matter in my view.

From box office POV, it's a solo Akshay movie altogether because he's the only crowdpuller in the film.

By that definition that every movie is a multistarrer, every film has a lead actor and a lead actress. Komal nahta has called it a solo actor film because it doesn’t have another leading act, and a multistarrer for the lady as it stars established heroines like sonakshri sinha.

Who says every movie has a lead actress? The role of the actress has to get equal screentime when compared to the actor, then only I'll call it a lead role. Male or female doesn't matter, atleast not for me. Screentime matters for me to decide which role is a lead and which role is supporting. Actresses playing eye candy in male dominated films are not leads. They are doing supporting roles. Also I don't care what Komal Nahta says, whatever it is its his POV.

The traditional definition always was a male lead and a female doesn’t matter the length of their screen time they were always defined as a female lead, for example ddlg, hahk, raja Hindustani, Gader, kah hona pyaar hai have actress with equal length screentime but we call them solo hero or heroine film, if akshay had another lead male actor starring in the same movie then we can call them multistarrer like Housefull franchise.

It's a multi-starrer, led by Akshay.

When even Akki is accepting it, why should anyone have problem.

Length of role definitely matters. But I think you are talking about solo HERO film, while I was talking about solo LEAD. In that case, Mission Mangal is definitely a solo hero movie as Sharman Joshi was playing a supporting role. There is no doubt in that.

Sherman joshi isn’t a fulltime hero, he’s roles are like heroes best friend or another character In a film. All I’m saying it’s a contradiction if heroine screentime determines if a film is multistarrer then we will have to exclude all those movies I mentioned as a solo film.
