Did veere di wedding work only because of Kareena Kapoor Khan?

The only 2 known faces in the movie were Kareena and Sonam. Sonam's track record proves that she has very little box-office standing. This year has been an acid test for her and she failed miserably on both counts.So....that just leaves Kareena.

Did the movie work because of her only? Or was it the theme of feminism which people liked, and the movie was entertaining?

however only 1 person alone can never be credited for opening or else why did GTPM opened at only 2.5cr?

it is the overall package..veere was just very hyped..trailer clicked and tareefan was a chartbuster..with zoya nothing worked..the movie though is so much better than what the trailers/promos suggested

Yes, the main factor was definitely Kareena. If she wasn't in the movie, it would feel like a B grade movie. She lent class to it, no matter how unclassy she may be in real life but her being an A-list actress and such a massively popular one at that is what made it work. Not to mention her good acting. Sonam is A-list but she is not popular at all and can't act for shit. The other 2 are not mainstream actors. With the theme being so bold, Kareena's presence is the main reason why it got watched and liked so much.

Kareena has played two of the most loved iconic free spirited characters aka Poo and Geet. If they were to make first chick flick without Kareena that would have been a shit idea.

The impact her previous characters had drew more people to watch VDW. She literally elevated film to a commercial female centric film. With Presence of just sonam, Swara it would have been streamed on amazon and not opened to double digit figure.
