I don't know if that's actually what happened there because it's difficult to believe. Let me tell you one incidence from my place. I live in Jammu and people have encroached the area near airport. Municipality has been sending notice to them for past 5 years. Now the entrance of airport is to be extended as it is quite congested and govt has again issued reminder and warned them too. They have also given a deadline. And you won't believe people are still taking it lightly and no ready to vacate the place. And I personally asked a local of that area about the situation and what are they planning on shifting their shop and I was surprised/shocked with the reply. He casually stated k madam ji, pichle paanch saal se bol rahe h yeh log, aaj tak kuch nahi kiya to ab kya karenge. Wo hai na kya bolte hain activist, wo ayenge aur report karenge. Kuch nahi hoga. And then people are like k govt to kuch b nai karti.

also recently few months ago a person's hand got stuck as door closed n his whole body outside.The metro dragged him for abit through tunnel, passengers tried emergency button n everything. Nothing work the man died. Lat week the metro board gave report saying the dead person was responsible for his death not the metro. Even though the door clearly malfunctioned bcz it's supposed to open even if a handkerchief gets in between through the sensor, n emergency button did'nt work either

Ridiculous to destroy so much flora and fauna for a damn metro. Rather than making strict population control laws that decrease the amount of children born and decrease the pressure of the land,they wanna kill nature. Development ka matlab yeh nahi hain ki you sacrifice greenery. Countries around the world are planting and making green towns and here we are doing the exact opposite. I can't wait till we have 1 children per couple or heavy fines upto jailing. This country is so freakin' crowded. For our every inconvenience nature has to die,kya? Use the metro money to plan contingency plans for the rainy season. Mumbai needs to stay floating for another metro. Last year I was stuck there for three hours from hotel to airport. Its a death wish to be in Mumbai during rains.

Dont know about the survey but there were spotting as near as last year...... there have been so many attacks on kids in and surrounding aarey colony........... though its unsafe for the locals, they refuse to leave.....but there is a time limit for people living inside, they cannot travel after 8 or 9 (not sure about the exact timing).............. also builders are slowly killing of the trees on the edges and build new apartments, which share the boundary wall with the forest area.......

a few years back, employees from one of the studio where I worked earlier, noticed cheetah jumping from the forest hill onto the wall..it later disappeared in the contours on the hill......so they were there..........dont know about the current status though....

These people are gonna hack more then 2000 trees for this project...... with the city already facing worse monsoon showers due to climate change, dont know how this big setback will effect it.......

as someone said in a placard during the protest, Jhaad nahi bachenge toh saans kaise lenge......phir metro hokar bhi kya fayda.....

the main thing needed to free up space in the mumbai to reduce the traffic is to reduce the illegal slums and migrations......... but the politicians wont dare touch that angle due to their vote-bank politics......
