yes...the only one he did not buy was a Natl. award.....trust me that it could have been bought easily....I used to have trust in NA.....but then Saif for Humtum...SLB for BM and Akki for Rustom happened....🤣...yes...he bought so many foreigh govts to give him awards....he could have bought Indian too....why he did not...beats me

Sabka PR tha but PR became big post 2000. Before that, not much. The magazine editors did more in coming up with titles for the stars...so good relationship with them was the kind of PR that used to happen. Aamir’s rel with media was pretty bad in the 90s!

SRK was ahead in the more current PR style in the 90s & he used it well b4 anyone did. AK’s PR picked up post RDB. Bhai also same. That’s when SRK wasn’t ahead anymore.

Anyways both are nepo kids but their first films were BB & they gained fans like no tomorrow so they kept getting films. I lived that time. It was phenomenal! We were blown by Qsqt & Maine Pyar Kiya!! We were obsessed...it’s hard to describe...my school friends, cousins all...we would talk about them all the time...50/50 AK vs SK fans...lol! No one else stood a chance. I am not from India so there was no PR in my country. It was organic.

There were other BB nepo kids like Kumar Gaurav but uska kich nahi huya. In current times, the new kids do not give BB debut but still stick around due to connections. That’s the only difference.

* This is a common knowledge for all Bollywood viewers that Anil, Sunjay dutt, Sunny deol were BIGGER STARS then all the three khans from early to MID 90's.

Khans came after these three, and ajay akshay sunil saif were in the 3rd row after Khans.

* Also from mid to end of 90's all 3 Khans were equal in popularity. Salman and Aamir were darlings of everyone's hearts right from their proper debut in MPK & qsqt. Srk came into limelight as a lead hero only after mid 90s post Ddlj.

* Salman has MORE NUMBER OF HITS in 90's and the BIGGEST HIT EVER in Hahk which did 711 crores net business compared to 460 crores of Ddlj which is a HUGE 250 crores SHORTER then HAHK. (I will make a separate thread over this soon with all no. of hits of salman & srk in the 90's decade).

* Srk's real peak was from early to Mid 2000's only.

* Also not to forget, after yash chopra's death and KAran johar disowning him, srk's stardom been EXPOSED as he was majorly depending on these two banners for biggest hits of his career, playing always safe unlike aamir and salman.

* And its also a known fact that srk single handedly brought down the credibility of awards, many actors boycotted the awards functions due to his manipulations & games, those who used to regularly attend award functions before the entrance of this cunning hamming actor.

Govinda gave many hits. That does not mean he was No.1 just bcoz he kept calling himself No.1 all the time. It is very easy to give Hits when u stick to a safe genre.

Now, coming to SRK. Lot of wrong facts are mentioned here by some.

SRK was casted as a supporting actor to Jackie Shroff in King Uncle by Rakesh Roshan first. He recommended him to Aditya Chopra. He was casted as Villain in Darr only bcoz they could not find anybody else after Aamir walked off (this is then Assistant director Aditya chopra's own words). He got huge fame from success of Darr and Baazigar that released in same year but was still considered only as a Villain. Anjaam released next year and got lot of praise for Madhuri but flopped.

He got his second big break after Rakesh Roshan casted him in his film Karan Arjun in 1995 as both SRK and Salman were same age and had brotherly vibes back then offscreen. But, his other films released same year tanked like Zamaana Deewana, Guddu, Ram Jaane and Trimurti.

Despite Karan Arjun, SRK became popular in true sense as a leading romantic Hero only after DDLJ which released the same year in 1995. He was a Villain until then and it is funny people r talking as if he helped Aditya Chopra get a hit. When he shud thank Aditya Chopra for casting him as an Hero after even he was thinking of sticking to Villain role. DDLJ was the real turning point in SRK's career. THIS film started his popularity among NRIs.

But, even after that. He gave four flops in 1996: English Babu, Chhahat, Army, Dushman Duniya Ka.

1997: Pardes flopped in India but was a Hit in Overseas. YRF helped him again with Dil Toh Pagal Hai

1998: Duplicate flopped, Achanak flopped, much hyped Maniratnam film Dil se flopped. But, Kjo's KKHH helped him to some extent. It was a film with lot of cringe fest and Kajol stole the limelight but it was a much needed hit again.

1999: Badshah released and tanked.

But, such was his PR machinery and media manipulation that despite such inconsistency, he started calling himself Badshah of Bollywood. Within 4 years i.e. 1995 to 1999, he and his PR wud call himself King Khan and insult everyone from Aamir to Amitabh Bachchan. That is when Aamir got pissed off.

But, his party ended next year after a newcomer Hrithik debuted out of nowhere and stole the thunder from his much hyped production, Phir bhi dil hai hindustani.

Hrithik went Aamir way after KMG and started doing very few films and exploring varied genres. He created his own benchmark and space.

2010-2019: It has always been Salman and Aamir who dominated the box office.

Just bcoz SRK lives in a mansion to satisfy his ego unlike his contemporaries does not mean he is a "King".

Is it my fault that Salman got some of his biggest hits in recent years? Point is that the biggest hits Salman has in his filmography came from Kabir, Ali and Sooraj Barjatya, no matter when the films released. No wonder Salman kept on repeating them as directors but didn't get the same success like SRK got with YRF and Dharma so he had to drop them.

SRK also has a dozen films outside YRF and Dharma, which also were hits but you keep on ignoring that . You calling him overrated will not make him one. DDLJ is still the biggest hit in romance genre. HAHK is more of a family drama. Raj-Simran is much more iconic than Prem- Nisha as onscreen couple.

My point was that even if SRK has done mostly romantic movies in his career to remain on top, whenever he has tried any other genre, he was still successful. Audience didn't reject him in action, comedy or masala movies. Even Salman had to do only masala movies to remain at top so SRK is not the only one guilty of that.

Why compare SRK films with SRK films? No one can prove if someone else has starred in place of SRK in DDLJ and KKHH then the films would've been bigger hits or bigger flops. The fact that Aditya and Karan repeated him in their next films proves that he had a role in the movies success. But one fact is this that without SRK, all Aditya and Karan have is Befikre, SOTY and ADHM. None of them were blockbusters like DDLJ, KKHH, K3G, Mohabbatein or RNBDJ. So their superb direction only works when SRK stars in their films.

Also even if SRK had connections with YRF and Dharma, he got it with his own efforts. Not got in khairat like Nepo kids. So that still makes him more worthy.

SRK can buy Google and Forbes, but can't buy national awards. Our government is so honest I must say.
